    This is why I own a PS3.

That creature is animated better than some Canned movie creatures.

edit: changed link to an HD version

I've never understood the appeal to these games. Enlighten me.

Well for starters, they don't involve the tell-tale gun in front of the screen that now, literally 80% of all games employ. Secondly, their games break typical standards for what is a game and what is art. That one is debatable, but both of their previous games aren't in English or Japanese. The character's seldom speak, so you figure your way around them by looking at the architecture and the environment, which for a PS2, was always rendered to look amazing.

No boss fights in any game has looked as spectacular as those in Shadow of Colossus. See in Zelda (Which is my favorite series) you had puzzles in a dungeon, leading up to a boss fight. In Shadow of Colossus, the Boss is the Level/Puzzle/Boss all in one. As for ICO, you get lost in its simple story of friendship between two very different character that can't escape their situation without the other. I've just always found this company's games (despite only being two) to be a refreshing breath of air in a world of "me too" shooters and bloody Zombie "Undead" games. Seeing this trailer lets me know that something "Different" is coming, and based on their previous two games, it can only be a good thing.....well, unless it sucks, :)

I've played Shadow of the Colossus before with a friend (I had no idea it was made by the same studio). It was fun because you felt like the story was 'in your own hands', so to speak. It was up to you to find your way around, find ways to kill the different colossuses(sp?) and keep yourself alive.

    Anyways, I don't own a PS3, but I'll check this out when it's released.

Shadow was so awesome. I hid under that rock thing forever during the first boss.
After running up that club for the first time, it was over, I was sucked into awesomeness.

Is that supposed to be a baby Griffin? Cool.

Anxiously awaiting what this special team has to bring to the table.

This next game looks like a blend between the previous 2. Instead of a girl, you have a big baby Griffin to help you around, and you will climb onto him and hang dangerously from ledges like in Shadow of the Colossus. Neat.

Plus, I hope it has more back story to the soldiers and whatever their deal is.

well I read that used ones cost around $200, that's not too bad. and I'd definitely like a 60gb, since I've got a good-sized sony collection.

It is rare these days to have a game where you sit slack jawed and are all Ansel Adams over it (enjoying the scenery, the eye candy.)

God of War I & II did that- for a hack and slash title.

and then there's a game (even rarer) where the gameplay is actually IMMERSIVE.
    Enter Shadow of the Colossus.
good god, that game did everything right (it seemed to me.)
I suck at video games, really, so i have to say i never finished it. but man, i wanted to.

Now to end this on a silly note...
    after Trico, what's next?
    FICO
You battle monstrous credit bureaus in order to get a better FICO score so you can buy that dream house and Minivan?

    j/k

Well damn. I guess now I know which next gen system I'll be getting.

Is this the first game to realistically portray animal eyeshine? It's really well done.
