Yeah, because billions of dollars in revenue from the live action movies and associated toys and merchandise is totally ruining the Transformers brand.

It's fine if people don't like the films for their execution, but I'll never understand why some fans consider their existence some heresy against a brand whose fiction is meant to sell toys.

Just give her a human role, if you want to see her so badly. Why waste it on a voice role...Swift is hot. Would love to have some Michael Bay money shots of her ass.

She couldn't be any worse a voice actor than the guys who did the following:

    Energon Ironhide
    Beast Wars Dinobot
    Beast wars Rattrap
    Beast Wars Quickstrike
    Movie Scalpel
    Movie Drift
    Movie Crosshairs
    Movie Lockdown

    All horrible performances.

That pic is the first one that makes Windblade's design look good. Of course it's James Raiz one of the best Transformers artists ever.

Windblade, like Drift and Alpha Trion before her, have horrible designs that look really out of place among traditional Diaclone based Transformers.

LOL to Beast Wars characters and Lockdown, Drift, and Crosshairs having terrible voice actors. Like this comment is seriously hilarious.

If we're going that route, I'd rather see Adriana Lima or Madalina Ghenea or even Game of Throne's Indira Varma.

Yes cast an Asian girl to play the Asian robot to appease those who find racism in everything.

While I can see where you're coming from, the movies are giving people a false image of what Transformers truly is. The movies provide provocative characters and jokes, along with over the top battle scenes, with absolutely no cohesive story. Look at IDW before CW. It was a great story, with fantastic world-building and characters. It was what Transformers should strive to be.
The movies give people a reason to say "well, Transformers truly is for kids and is just about selling toys". At this point, however, there's no salvation for the Movies.
The one thing I liked about the movies was Crosshairs. I loved him, and all the comments about how his voice actor was "horrible" are just plain out bullshit. John DiMaggio is a fantastic voice actor and fit the character well.

    >Scott McNeil
    >Bad Voice Actor

I seriously hope you guys don't think this.

Agreed about DiMaggio and Crosshairs being awesome. I do like IDW, but at the same time I wouldn't want that as a Transformers show or movie, and I say that as hardcore Transformers fan. You want a movie that will alienate most of the general audience and do horrible at the box office? Make a film that's entirely based on MTME. Make the imaginary film that will (supposedly, but would never actually) please the vast majority of an online fandom numbering in the thousands as opposed to the vast millions who do not spend their time on sites such as these.

Also, how are the movies giving the audience a false idea of what Transformers is? For fiction to be "Transformers" it needs to be official fiction that has transforming, alien robots from Cybertron that think or feel. There usually is an ongoing war between the Autobots and Decepticons, although there is fiction where the war is in the past or hasn't fully developed yet or where other factions are involved. The movies have the basic elements of the brand in them regardless of what one thinks of them. Robots in disguise? Check. An Autobot-Decepticon war? Check. Robots that think and feel? Check. Additionally, many other aspects of Transformers have roots in Sunbow, Marvel, or more recent series. The Transformers having Creators. Optimus and Megatron being the faction leaders. Bumblebee befriending a Witwicky. Starscream being the second in command of the Decepticons. Lockdown being an unaligned bounty hunter as in Animated. I could go on in much more detail. The films are as much Transformers as G1, as IDW, as Animated, as Beast Wars, as "Aligned," or anything else. Sure, they're not perfect, but what Transformers fiction is? It's fine to not like the movies, but the movies, like all things Transformers, are meant to make money, and the movies do that very, very well. That is Hasbro's and Paramount's interest.

I love Transformers, but to the general audience Transformers fiction of any kind will never be high art, and they're right. Frankly, Transformers shouldn't be high art, but I still love the brand for what it is, and it still has plenty of things I like.

Also, how can Transformers have provocative characters and jokes but have the same crowd do a total 180 and agree that it's merely for kids?

The less the movies have to do with MTMTE the better. I actually want to keep enjoying the movies. I know I'll be seeing TLK at least 4-5 times. And Taylor Swift as Windblade? Yeah no thanks. Her current VA is my pick.
