Anyone end up collecting all the (recent) Targetmaster partners? I'm talking: - all the Takara Legends accessory dudes - all the Siege BattleMasters (that are gun dudes, anyways) One thing I haven't been able to find is a group shot of all of them together
Yeah, I would be interested in comparisson shots of the characters that have figures in both lines. Not sure if I ever saw a pic, but I remember back when Siege started, someone said that basically the LG ones had better robot moder (articulation and accuracy) but the WFC ones had better transformations and locked in gun mode.
I agree with that. The LG targetmasters have knee articulatio, but the WFC targetmasters are able to lock the arms. Which begs the question: Why the hell couldn't they do both in the same line?!
That's a silly question! Of course it is for you to buy both, and then a 3rd one that solves those 2 issues (but has others the forst 2 didn't).
Ask and ye shall receive. Of the Legends Targetmasters that I have, the one I like the most is Firebolt and since I also have the WFC Firebolt, let's do that. WFC Firebolt is all ball joints, while LG Firebolt has individual swivel thighs, and a connected waist/head swivel, then ball jointed knees and shoulders. Both do lock in the muzzles in gun mode, but the arms do nothing in gun mode on the LG while the WFC all tabs together. One bigger difference I'd like to highlight is that the peg is much shorter on the LG version, which actually makes it impossible to fit in Hot Rods hand; you have to angle in the hand a bit to give clearance for it to fit. WFC Firebolts long peg bypasses the issue alltogether.
I hope we get a new mold of them that uses a single barrel blaster. Not all the g1 toys were double barrel...I believe there were 3 distinct molds of the original targetmasters IIRC? And also I would like more Autobots released at mass retail. So far 2 of them have been packed in exclusive box sets.
Thanks for the pics. I didn't expect the LG ones to be smaller. Both have their pros and cons but I lean towards WFC because thats what I have and the aesthetic, but mostly because of the blast effects
I’ve gotten all of them except the lg decepticon targetmasters (including the old universe nightstick and the targetmasters that came with generations scoop). Definitely agree that the lg ones have the best articulation and colors, but overall I think the wfc trilogy ones are better for a few reasons. 1. no clear plastic on the wfc battlemasters 2. Wfc battlemasters have more solid gun modes
Thanks for pics everyone, keep em coming! You know I never considered that the Siege BattleMasters have the hand-to-hips pegging action to lock the arms It's true that LGs' arms are just loose, and that their feet up top, are bit more "out there", as opposed to pegging in securely Also didn't consider the clear plastic on the LGs, that is a concern over time I really like the LGs' paint jobs, and seems like each has it's own face/torso sculpt? The Siege BMs are doing a lot of mold repetition, which kills the excitement a bit I bought a couple extra BMs to swap limbs, and was surprised to find that between the ONLY TWO BM sculpts (that are used for the conventional targetmasters, which is to say "Rung-not-withstanding"), that you can't swap limbs between them! Firedrive's balljoints are much bigger than Blowpipe's, they aren't interchangeable between sculpts
