Hmm...methinks I might be interested in this Protector. This is the year of Rodimus.

That's pretty darn important stuff to know. I'd rather have some reputable 3rd party company make this than some unknown.

no I meant why should we really care it is made at all? It is yet another over priced little thing that isn't really needed. This thing will cost $20-30 most likely.

    No transformer toy is "needed."

    It's all relative.

But i want to know if it is:
    A) just a copy of the original
    B) a remake/modernization of it like Classics Cyclonus's targetmaster..

If it is just a exact copy of the original it is unneeded. Didn't the reissue of the G1 have it's TM?

I'd rather see NEW and UNIQUE accessories like the Animated stuff with the stasis cuffs and Allspark. Things like that. They made unique stuff and it was inexpensive. This looks to be the original one and will sell for a high cost most likely

I want Protector to be able to hold the upcoming mini Hot Rod that turns into a weapon.

Based on the picture, this one has articulation, so it's definitely not a copy.

Also... Not every product is going to be for everyone. If you don't like something, don't buy it. But don't get the attitude that it shouldn't be made at all because you don't like it.

I don't like things like the stasis cuffs or allspark or other things like that, but I DO love things like Headmasters or Targetmasters that enhance my CHUG toys. So clearly those are marketed toward you, while Targetmasters are marketed toward me.

My only quibble with this is the fact that FansProject is doing one too, and if THIS one ends up selling badly, we may not get one for Scourge or Blurr.

Honestly, I'd rather see a transformable Targetmaster than some of the stuff CrazyDevy has been doing (plus the pricing can't get much worse). Accessories like this make more sense to me. There is so much untapped potential in the Headmaster, Targetmaster, Powermaster and Brainmaster market. Just look at the upcoming Hothead Headmaster by HeadRobots. That is a great product that is even compatible with older G1 Headmasters. You also get accessories too for $30. Pretty solid price considering what you get.

Yes, this is my concern as well. I want TMs for Scourge and Blurr too. However, the Hot Rod one will have to sell well first. Very similar to HeadRobots and their ventures. They needed/need the Cobra to continue to sell for their Hothead project.

To each his own; I have zero interest in the Headrobots stuff but I'm more than happy to have all the upgrade kits for my G1 Devy (not interested in the Superion or Predaking ones though - yet).

Yes, to each his own. That said, I wonder how you (and others) can even afford all those piecemeal upgrades. The CrazyDevy piecemeal approach drives me nuts. I'd rather buy a large package with all the upgrades included. The waiting game they play with their customers does not sit well with me.

I always thought Prowl should have a "deputy" type targetmaster. Even going as far as doubling as some type of handcuffs or restraint system.

Interesting idea, but I'd rather see TMs and HMs for characters that are known for them. Of course that didn't stop me from buying a new character like that Cobra Headmaster.
