More countries are putting a strain on resources (in terms of materials and labor) to the point it's driving up prices because that's how supply/demand work?

Like, this isn't some shady conspiracy. It's shit getting more expensive because more people want the same shit.

They "get interested" but only in the ego-centric "my toy costs more and this sucks because CORPORATIONS!" way that doesn't really lead to anything helpful.

I got really lucky and found two cases of W2 Netflix Voyagers sitting on the pallet about a month or so ago. I sliced one open to grab a Soundwave for myself and debated slicing the second open to take both home. I assumed SOMEBODY would want it for at least cost...but at the same time I knew I wouldn't be able to avoid temptation to try and milk it for some serious cash.

And I didn't want to be that asshole. I hope whoever ended up getting it didn't as well.

 

Given the lazy, KO-quality paint job, I wouldn't pay $20 for this thing. It just looks cheap to me.

Who said anything about conspiracies? There's not some shadow organization trying to manipulate pricing, if that's what you're implying. But if you think government policies and macroeconomics don't play a hand in inflation, I have some oceanfront property in Kansas I can sell you.

 

It's not just increased consumer demand but if everyone else's wages increases, then it costs more money to produce and ship products. Then the problem becomes your wages not increasing in comparison to everyone else's. We earned less in the 80s but had a lot more buying power. We earn more now but our buying power has weakened. This is the reason why incremental increases in price of goods can feel very painful because our wages are not keeping up. This isn't directed specifically at you T-Hybrid, its just something that I think gets lost in these conversations.

Google or Youtube wage stagnation.

 

I mean, that's the whole concept of inflation. The price of goods outpacing cost-of-living increases.
