but at places like target, all size classes share the same upc or dcpi number. so if i scan a deluxe and says there are more and employee is kind enough to look does not mean the one i am looking for will be back there.

Seems like a waste of time. Plus, they would probably just restock with MORE of the same figures anyway lol

this thread is hilarious. i can always count on the unintelligent masses to assume everything about our intentions on doing something like this. we dont buy transformers to sell on ebay. we buy them for us and our friends. you guys act like we are buying 50+ transformers when in reality its targets that have less then 10 TOTAL transformers there. restocks come in ONE case with 6 Transformers. 4 RTS and 2 Generations. WOW CALL THE COPS THATS HORRIBLE.

secondly target has our money. they return it to us via store credit which we use to buy the ones we want. you guys act like hasbro makes transformers to order and not that they already made all their items and put it in a warehouse.

but congratulations the last 30 minutes reading all this garbage by angry uninsightful simpletons has really made my day.

did you expect ppl to agree with you?

you choose to do what you do and ppl can have their opinion.

also your statement single handily grouped everyone as insightful simpletons. which you will find not everyones post was "garbage".

by that statement makes you look like a simpleton.

Or you can realize that January and February are slow for toys and stuff picks up in the spring...it's cyclical.

I was just about to say this. It's not like the individual stores order directly from Hasbro. It doesn't work that way.

Holy crap...the lengths people are starting to go through You can tell how much of a nightmare the distribution has become for people.

Here is something that can be quoted:

"Distribution is damned close to what it has always been, the internet is now around so the have and have not's can brag or alternatively whine about it"

Still funny reading in this thread:gen069:

Even if distribution is bad, I just wait about two months after the first sightings. If it doesn't hit my area by then, I just order it online.

I don't really see a problem with this as if nothing else it gets things moving. If you did that with Tuner Mudflap then you sir should be given a medal. Anything that stops those things from keeping new stuff coming in is a good thing.

No they don't. The stores know how much stock they have on hand. So if you store is like most right now, with let's say 8 movie/RTS figures over 6 pegs, the store's system knows it needs more. So when the DC gets another shipment it sends them to the store. The other store you throw extra product into also gets the same case of new product at roughly the same time, but now because its pegs are full of all the stuff you moved, those new figures languish in the backroom until some poor sap buys the dozen or Sea Attack Ravages.

That's the point though, this doesn't actually work that way.

and if your closest Targets suddenly have NOTHING but Tuner Mudflaps and you hear that they wont get any new figures until these sell...what is your opinion of his medalworthiness?

It happens all the time... be it $12 Deluxes or several hundred dollar TV's. Sure, a lot of the sheer volume of returns come from our store... but we have tons that comes from other stores as well.

$12 toys just get absorbed with the rest.

Our My Share quarterly bonus is higher this quarter than it has been in over a year... but we also have an experienced Manager right now too.

The practice, and the debate, seems like a waste of time.
