Optimus Prime has a high percentage of the outer parts covered in chrome. Its weird that it is the one right before Windblade. Its going to be many months before that one is released.

 

I am going to use the deluxe trailer from DOTM to go with this Prime. I love the way Grimlock looks with the gold chrome.

 

I am not a huge fan of the optimus but the girmlock sold it for me.

 

My Target order came in today, here's my mini collection of Grimlocks with some of the various 3rd party and custom upgrades.



From Left to Right:
1) AOE Grimlock w/ custom Honda Saint head and Artek gun (black) - he'll hang out on the classics Autobot shelf
2) Generations FOC repainted into the G2 teal variant with Artek head (black w/ red visor) and gun (metallic black) - displayed with my classics G2 figures
3) FOC Generations Takara with Zenith Forge sword and shield - will be with the rest of the FOC Dinobots from 3rd party Planet X
4) Platinum with Zenith Forge head, Iron Factory wings/belly cover and gun - kinda the odd bot out currently, the G1 styled wings matches best with him color wise. I'm considering painting his belly blue to make a custom Diaclone homage.

 

I doubt this will last long enough to clearance.

 

I have to admit, if I see this set, I'll be very tempted to pick one up.

I just got mine in the mail from Target.com today. I haven't opened it yet but they do look perty... I didn't even notice the "thrilling 30"..

 

does anyone else notice the chrome color on the platinum grimlock looks more like a weak amberish gold vs the gold on the target two pack grimlock....the target grimlock looks more shinier and golden than the platinum one to me anyway.....

 

Anyone notice on Target.com that the AOE/FOC Grimlock isn't named Grimlock?

 

in another thread someone said that was the "assigned script name or code name" used by bay during production.....

 

i dont why this mold is so popular. it kinda sucks.

 

its still legions above the energon or classics grimlock

if hasbro would re-mold the shoulders on classics grimlock so they would actually tab in and lock that mold would be a five star homerun hit...

 

Grimlock doesn't look bad, the Optimus I'm on the fence about. Can we get some more pictures of him?

I found mine yesterday afternoon.

Prime is most certainly the gem here. In Truck mode, He's almost entirely Chromed.
