Views don't translate to good reception. It just meant that people were interested to see what Combiner Wars promised to be (but wasn't). Similarly, with the movies, quite often. It seems that you believe what Hasbro tells you, but I'm not sure if they do themselves. They can't be that blind. If anything, the reception of Combiner Wars, recent cartoons and most of all the movies, is far worse outside the fandom than it is within. And if the views mean anything, is that there is interest in what Combiner Wars promised to be: A more mature, intelligent, version/continuation of the original Transformers. That's the only message anyone should be getting from this.

IF (wink wink) someone were to watch any M. Bay TF film (especially the latest one) for free, on the internet, then I think they have the legal right to demand their money back.

Electricity and bandwidth cost money too, you know...

So none of the 14 versions have deleted scenes and gag reels?

I actually learned something from this thread. There's apparently still video rental stores somewhere. Hmm.

I do feel that the majority of the negative reaction to Combiner Wars was because it was so built up before it was released. It was supposed to be "what serious fans had been waiting for," and then turned out to come across like a badly hacked together script tossed at some kids with flash animation to build a video for. Had they not built it up so much, it probably would be seen as just a mediocre side-story, and probably wouldn't have gotten near as much negative reaction.

The gag reel is disc 1.

I bought the Walmart version last night with the 2 Jada die-cast cars, there's nothing but the movie on disc 1 (Blu-Ray).

I can think of exactly one video rental store left in my city, and I know the guy who owns/operates it and it wasn't him. :)

I suppose it could have been a video store owner from out of town. But still, it's hard to imagine any video store wanting that many copies of this movie. I'm still thinking it was someone who wants to throw them on Ebay or Amazon.

Or maybe he was simply one of those quiet, true heroes out there; buying them all to destroy and saving the rest of us from any morbid temptation we may have to buy this set for ourselves.

That series sucked pretty bad but if it was released in region 2 (I'm in Europe), I'd pick it up! I want every transformers cartoon and movie on dvd/bluray, including Combiner Wars - despite the lack of quality.

What is Wal-Mart going to get? A double-feature DVD with The Room?

That's all too common in my neck of the woods. He's probably taking them to a local toy show to scalp, and if he can't sell them, he'll probably return them within the allotted 2-week period.

It seems very random to include an online animated series that has nothing to do with the movieverse with TLK... ah well.

also could have been someone stocking those rental kiosks ~ i've heard the smaller (non-redbox) players will go buy big movies on release day because it's often cheaper then wholesale.

That's a good point. I didn't even know those existed until I saw one in the small town where my mom lives.
