I fully understand it. Licensed figures cost more. Gigawatt and Ectotron worked for me at their prices. Even the SDCC Ghostbuster Prime. We will see if this drop or if I cave.

Scoop is a front end loader….

That is a completly different vehicle than a dump truck.

Hmm, I never did get TR Optimus Prime or TR Blitzwing. And I never did get either of those SF x TF sets the first time either. And I do like Transformers and Street Fighter. So maybe I'll get Ryumus Prime vs Bisontron this time, if only to finally have those molds.

I can skip Archunli vs Hot Ken Rod, since I have both those base molds already.

The peg on Hook to which you attach Bonecrusher to build Devastator is also metal. I have an original G1 Devastator from I think 1985 or 1986 that's mostly complete except for needing a replacement right forearm for combined mode and the laser pistols for Scavenger, Bonecrusher, Scrapper, and Mixmaster.

Logo slap. Caterpillar DOES make every Constructicon's vehicle mode, you know. And Trench sets a precedent

If this Tonka collab is foreshadowing GoBot crossovers then I’ll budge for that.

The problem with that is the original GoBots molds are owned by Bandai of Japan and were only licensed to Tonka for western release during the 1980s.

So... um... I distinctly remember TFSource having those Street Fighter crossover figures on clearance quite often like they couldn't get rid of them. Curious to see if Target gets better sales.

That Devastator recolor though... I've wanted to get some G1 combiners and would love this one (it claims it's 18"!? That *has* to be a lie), but I never saw any of the official reissues, the aftermarket prices were insane, and the KO route typically has massive problems like Afterburner and Nosecone filling in for limbs on Menasor... Interested to see at a bare minimum, but at over $100 is beyond hysterical.

G1 Devastator to the tip of Bonecrusher's shovel is only 8 1/2 inches tall.

Scoop was a semi-prominent IDW character at the time. Wideload (and Quickmix) didn't have any form of popularity to bank on.

But moreso, what I was mainly getting at is that Wideload doesn't have a shortcut to production by being an easy redeco of something. Now, there's not a zero chance that he gets a new figure, especially with Hasbro currently on a "update everything G1" path, but I'd imagine he's pretty low-tier.

But hey, if we get a new Wideload, maybe they can give us a new G2 Dirtbag in the process.

Prominent because of a writer IIRC, not because of any real fan popularity as shown that figure did shwlf warm hard for awhile and is still cheaply available on sites like BBTS
Wideload and Landfill. Thats 2 dump trucks right there. Although to get his targetmasters, landfill would likely need to be a voyager now and release wideload as a deluxe

Probably because some people are suggesting they should have used the CW Titan, instead.

Doesn't really matter how he rose to prominence. Hasbro was all about the IDW synergy at that point.

Guessing Target got the cost down by not getting hit with import fees the Takara releases had when sold by U.S. specialty shops.

BBTS MSRP for Chun Li / Ken was 89.99, clearance for 79.99:
Street Fighter II X Transformers Ken Vs. Chun-Li Exclusive
    Target 74.99

BBTS MSRP for Ryu / M.Bison was 129.99, clearance for 90.99:
Street Fighter II X Transformers Ryu Vs. M. Bison Exclusive
    Target 112.99

I can see how they're gonna fail now. $112 for 2 old voyagers (despite being licensed, inflation's gone up, etc) is still ridiculous.
