I feel like I've reached a point in Transformers collecting where I need to take a break. Not necessarily because I need to, but because there's nothing particularly out there sans a few Fansproject items that have been released lately. Not to say I won't buy anything Transformers until then, just not like I have been for the past few months.

I'm fairly caught up on Generations, RTS, etc, and anything else that I want to buy would be Classics or G1 on ebay, which I'll be able to get for around the same prices for a little while.

I'm glad that I won't feel the need to go out and Transformer hunt until Prime toys come out so I can put a little extra money in the bank, as well as focus on some vintage toy collecting. Hopefully by this time a little bit of the "movie rush" will be gone from some of the Classics and G1 and the prices will go down a little.

Has anyone else ever got this way? I'd rather take a little break then to burn myself out, as well as my wallet.

Once I'm more or less "caught up" on my collection, I'll probably dedicate my leisure and resources to kitbashing full-time.

Taking a break is good. Better than you buying just for the sake of buying.

Dec-Feb are looking quiet right now.

...and i'm not sold on Prime yet either Haven't seen enough of the toys to make an informed decision, and i really really don't like the cartoon.

My advice is to keep checking the site even if yo do it less often. You never really know how long those breaks can take.

I took a break during the Cybertron years and thought that Hasbro was only doing movie stuff. I ended up leaving the scene until last year and as you can imagine it's been very expensive catching up and trying to get some stuff at retail before I need to pay aftermarket prices on even more stuff.

I'm not caught up yet some of the bots that I would like. Masterpiece Grimlock, Skywarp and a few fansproject stuff I really want. And if I do take a break from transformers, most likely I will be collecting some other line, like Thundercats. :D

Well...you're not really taking a break...you're just waiting for something to be released that you actually want.

Completely agree. I look at the SWTFs, random repaints and Animated toys I bought for the 'sake of collecting' and really wish i'd taken a break instead. I'm slowing down on current stuff, there's only a small handful of DoTM toys I'm interested in and Prime designs aren't my thing for the most part so other than 3rd party and the last couple Generations toys I'm looking at taking a bit of a break myself. I doubt I'll ever get out of it completely, but I'm trying to narrow my focus on collecting overall.
