Yup, that Shittle Off sure does look like a tubby ugly duckling. I'll stick with my good, Belongs-on-the-team Blast Off. I'm afraid that four blades won't win me over either, Takarcass, not unless it stick to the forearm for copter-blockter action.

 

They've been doing it since Armada, right? I vaguely recall this being the case with armada hot shot.

 

Maybe we shouldn't ask for accuracy to animation models that look like dogshit. Seriously, what do people see in that obsolete relic that you call G1?

Blastoff looks like a heavy remold of CW Rook. Blastoff's chest plate = Rooks backpack basically.

 

Blast Off looks... just okay to be honest, but is Vortex just doomed to have the rotor hanging off his ass? I guess you can fold at least two of them but then what's the point. I appreciate the extra effort but if they wanted to have a more g1-ish vortex it needed just a little extra remolding. Maybe in the final product, but I doubt it.

 

Based entirely on one blurry scan, Blast Off is not likely to be worth waiting/paying import prices for unless you're the kind of super-hardcore who already has Warbotron anyway.

I mean, neat, but I can't be bothered to care. (It would be cool if they used him in the inevitable G2 Bruticus set, though.)

 

Bruticus looks like he will be good. Already locked in a pre order. Keeping Takara UW in box and displaying Combiner Wars, but these Japanese versions are starting to tempt me to crack them open.

 

Optimus as a winged angelic being, seems more legit than how he appeared in the show that we are even not sure he's still a ghost or resurrected.

 

That more clear pic makes him look like a CW Firefly tooling. The booster feet look weird though.

WOOOO BLAST OFF!!!!! but wait... shit why is Bruticus's chest so dark... DAMNIT is it going to be show accurate brown? GROSS. Bruticus is the ONE combiner that needs to be toy accurate NOT show accurate. his colors awful in G1.

i hope its just a dark gun metal silver paint or something and the black and white properties of the photo are making it look darker than it is.

if not, well i guess ill be getting this set and one hasbro onslaught to cannibalize a chest piece of of.

 

Since I have the Hasbro one, I would actually prefer a show accurate scheme.

 

Pretty neat how Blast Off's chest transforms like it did in the animation, where the shuttle front forms his chest.

Seriously guys?! Not this stuff again. He's completely new and not a retooling.
