The instructions for the arcee triplets does not contain instructions for combined mode. And doesnt mention it. However it does say to give chromia the sword and Arcee the gun and shoulder pad. Howso? Hasbro's instrutions show the same "add extra pieces to these figures". EDIT: Okay, this is weird - the online instructions don't seem to have it, but the physical instruction sheet for the 3-pack I bought at Smyths Toys has it.
The bases allow you to plug Elita 1 into arcee's base and peg chromia into her back so there are multiple permutations of a stable combined mode. That's why everyone was hoping to see which version was 'official'.
Probably just a wink wink to people that know that the combined mode was in the previsualization stage of ROTF?
Mash them together with no intent and purpose and it will look just like the concept art. Don’t need instructions for that.
So I was wrong. The online version of the Hasbro instrutions does also show how to attach the extra pieces to Arcee and Chromia. These appear to be the Chinese instructions, but the images are the same as in my physical copy purchased at German retail. The TakaraTomy instructions use the exact same images, just rearranged differently.
