I was initially onboard for Outback but I thought something looked off, and lo and behold it's because they didn't remold the chest like the original figure, same issue with Tailgate.

Disappointed that they didn't rework the articulation to give him a proper swivel on that right arm. Something which can be achieved very easily as per my custom Primal.

As for primal, is he better that the original? Yes
200 usd better? No

 

Now this is the TakaraTomy we all know and love. The price is ridiculous but I doubt I'm going to be able to resist him.

Awww, I was kind of hoping they re-tooled that accessory from Brawn to give Outback a huge honking set of lights and his original G1 inspired gun. Oh well, guess the new head will have to suffice.

 

I care because they're putting resources towards rereleasing a figure that very few probably want, when they could instead work on rereleasing a figure that many, such as myself, would want.

...Beast Wars fans? G1 gets a lot of love. I'm happy about that, being a G1 guy, but BW fans need love too. It was a pretty seminal work as far as taking Transformers out of the "Brainless Saturday Morning Toy Commercial" Ghetto and actually attempting a story.

That being said, $200 for a toy I can pick up on E-Bay for $80.00 is kinda silly.

Kind of agree with the idea that they could have done a little remolding at least. Dunno why they didn't add a weensy bit more articulation or gave him a head that doesn't look like a creepy monkey "O" face.

 

I'll be positive. Happy for those that will want Primal and I hope they buy tonnes so the next Encore will be something I want.

 

Pros: looks good, Optimus Primal is awesome, Beast Machines finally gets an ounce of love.
Cons: The price, no Garry Chalk, too big to scale with anything, gimmicks are more hindrance than helpful.
I really want this but I don\'t know with that price...

Maybe I can help. If you squint at his chest deco, it looks like tiny worms are crawling around his chest cavity. He is now officially gross and you don't have to buy him.

Dude, like I said, there's like 2-3 of them on e-bay for $80-150 bux. Why pay for a less feature-packed re-release from a 17 year old mold when you can get the actual original toy for less, with all the bells and whistles?

yeah I don't understand the price. You can still get the year of the monkey for $60 (I paid $40 for mine less than two months on Amazon). And the original is around $100 for a sealed one at that!

I appreciate the color scheme.. but yeah I have no real place for Beast Machines in my collection. Granted I have a few.. but I really don't want to go in on any more until (if we ever) we get Masterpiece Beast Machines figures.

The OG molds are just not that good in my opinion.
