It’s too bad that they didn’t choose Blast Punch Primal with this new deco instead. Not only is BPP more screen-accurate, it would do well for a repaint since the original colors weren’t even close to screen-accurate.

Same feeling here... I was surprised Beats Wars Returns line didn't improve the colors on that mold.

Yeah I wish they had just ripped off this guy.

This new figure of takara's looks good, but it's size, and it's price make it an instant No Chance for me.

I think the reasoning may be that:

    1. It was only available in Japan as a TRU "USA Exclusive"
    2. The brown sparkly plastic is prone to shattering

So, this gives folks who missed it in Japan a second chance to own the toy and, for those who do own it, the chance to own a copy that probably won't disintegrate in the future.

For me, I have the original and the recent Platinum version MISB. So, me...probably you...and most of the English-speaking world will probably give this a hard pass. But Japan, of whom this figure is being marketed for, might be interested in it.

This is true. All those Encopre are targeted to Japan market. I think they will sure give him the Japanese voice too.

It looks nice, and the deco is definitely an improvement over the original. I'd love to own it because it looks like a fun and fairly accurate toy, but that price makes it an easy pass. I have a feeling all this will do is tell TakaraTomy that nobody wants Beast Machines (some of us do, I promise) rather than nobody wants overpriced Encore figures.
Hopefully they don't screw this one up too. Imagine spending $190 for a broken munky.
You'll regret saying that when they announce an Encore Supreme Cheetor.

Shame. Two I'll fated Encore releases back to back. One with bad QC the other just an uninteresting mold. Doesn't bode well for the continuation of Encore.

Why can this mold just go away.

I would have prefer a reissue of Magmatron.

WOW! 250 Loonies for a BM Big Bot that speaks Japanese? No thanks! And I consider myself a big Primal fan. Obviously. But I can tell you, owning both the original and the recent Primal Prime colored Year of the Monkey repaint, that is not a great toy for it's size. He is packed with gimmicks, namely the punching gimmick that hinders the toy's articulation. I think this repaint looks awesome! But without Garry Chalk's voice, this really loses any appeal. I hope the Japanese market enjoys him. This being their first time being able to get him domestically. Hopefully he sells like gangbusters in Japan because I don't see a lot of collectors importing him overseas.

Seriously, I hope this does well just so that we get more BW reissues in the future. It would certainly be nice to be able to buy a brand new Transmetal figure that doesn't have chrome that turns to dust when you touch it. Or a BW Neo Galvatron who's drill doesn't suffer from GPS. Or likewise a Magnaboss that doesn't suffer from BPS. Or just reissue some of the rarer BW figures.

This looks really cool; I love the paint-job in beast mode. The price is too much though, what a shame.

But if the QC is better this time, and I hope it is, this might sit around at retail long enough to get one for cheap later.

Let's not get crazy here, with the usual retailer discounts this one will be like 127$ + shipping.

Still pricey, but nowhere near 250 :)

... I wonder if they fixed that foot issue. I actually really liked that toy when I had it.

I still really like this toy and might grab this regardless of the hefty price tag (the new snazzy deco doesn't hurt either). I love the original release but haven't touched mine in years because I'm terrified of the breakage issues.
