Business decisions like this re-release are the reason we can't have a continuation of the Legends line.

How so? Just because Returns Convoy wouldn't sell in the U.S. doesn't mean it won't sell in Japan. Moreover, how does an Encore release preclude the lack of future EX Legends?

It didn't sell in Europe either. I doubt it sold much better in Asia, even though it was a Hasbro Asia release.

 

Did Asia get Beast Machines? Japan got it under the Beast Wars Returns. It may have gone over very well there...better than we know, at least. Those who are actually over in Japan can probably chime in on BWR's success or lack thereof.

But like I said, it looks like the Encore line is going Convoy...in order. Car Robots was released before BWR in Japan...meaning Micron Super Convoy is maybe next after Returns Convoy.

 

TakaraTOMY probably just planned to release all post year 2000 Optimus Prime in the Transformers: ENCORE toy line, and Beast Machines Optimus Primal happens to be the next one. They might cancel the toy line again eventually if the sales are very bad, but I guess they already planned for this release months ago before the mishap with God Fire Convoy.

 

Im not Japanese but calling a monkey "convoy" just doesnt fit. Convoys are made up of trucks so at least for G1 it makes sense.

 

Takara originally thought primal was prime, and primes name was convoy so it actually makes perfect sense

 

BBTS put up a preorder for $189. Good luck with that.

 

Judging by the plot of the SGMF (the field of 2011), it needs to be reissued. An example in 2005 re-released Galvatron in anime colors, as the plot was in 2005

 

I get that. But the definition of the word "convoy" has no relevance to monkeys. Its a line of trucks. Trying to keep a diaclone name tradition doesnt necessarily translate so well in reimagined continuities. They should just let it go already and stick with "Prime". Thats what Hasbro used when they created the actual continuity for toys that never before had a backstory.

 

This has got to be the weirdest reissue release I've ever seen or heard of.

My GOD I want a reissue of Micron Legends Convoy DX SO BADLY!!! Many Convoy's would be tempting to me. Even the God Fire Convoy is tempting, despite it's flaws.  

I never heard abut this happening?! Did it?!

 

...Who cares? And I think the term "Beast Convoy" has been used before as well.

convoy can also be a transitive verb meaning to accompany, especially for protection. Definition of CONVOY it doesnt always have to mean vehicles.

 

I care because it sounds corny. Maybe its culture shock, but a line of trucks is well...a line of trucks.

 

A convoy does not specifically refer to vehicles in every definition, it’s just the most commonly associated meaning

 

Oh well. I'd love an Overlord or Victory Saber reissue.
