Don't worry, this'll quite likely sell so poorly that you'll be able to find it for cheap not that later on.  

 

I'm kind of hoping that the market will be flooded with them, and they'll become dirt cheap. At the moment they're pretty rare, and they go for hundreds. I mean, there's one on eBay right now for almost $400 AUD. It's a cool toy in my opinion, but I don't think it's $400 cool, or even $300 cool. Heck, I don't think I'd even go as far as $200 cool. I want it, but there's other things I'd rather spend my money on. If it's between one of these and a few dozen Generations toys, I know what I'm choosing.

 

I dunno, even if they do, it seems a bit pointless. I got Micro Legend Super Convoy recently, brand new in box, and for about what I'd have paid at New Zealand retail for Armada Optimus back in the day. He's also far from the only copy available out there, though I admit that he's in somewhat limited supply these days, but the point is that I doubt he'll be worth whatever crazy, asinine price TakaraTomy think up next.

Most electronics are worth pennies at best. I highly doubt the electronics are pushing the price up a noticeable amount.

They've been having plenty of issues since before then.

 

If one were to get this Primal, what suggestions would folks have for a matching Megaton to go with him?
From what I can see, the options are pretty limited (especially for something that looks even halfway decent.) There are a few versions of the tattered dragon in the cape look, but they all look pretty bad. I can't find any toys of the diagnostic drone.
The obvious choice is the Meghead Megatron, replicating his Grand Mal floating head mode. The downside of this is it's small as a Deluxe, and worse, seem impossible to get. The only one I could find online was close to $300!!


There's also the Savage/Noble toy - seem's okay but again a Deluxe and the colour apps seem way off.

 

An option for the diagnostic drone is the overboard titanmaster mildly mistransformed like in the bw uprising stuff from funpub

 

At least, I never heard much about issues before then. Still seems odd to me.

 

All good. I found an RID Megatron Megabolt toy on ebay. Same mould, slightly different colouring. A little subtle repainting and this will work perfectly. I'll be ordering the show coloured KO of the Air Attack mould to pair with it, though the size's aren't exactly show accurate...LOL

 

Kinda a Shame HasTak couldn't make some sort of Beast-machines themed set of reissues.

 

Yeah. Reading up on it, I don't think the Beast Machines toys were very popular in Japan or the west. They seemed to have some of the most show accurate moulds for their time but I don't think the interest was there. So much that I'm not sure Beast Machines will ever make it to the Masterpiece range .

 

Hope that Beast Machine Cheetor & Beast Machine Rattrap can make it to Masterpiece range.

 

An Encore Megahead Megatron would have been much more appreciated than Air Attack Optimus. I don't personally need one was I already have it, but it remains to this day very desirable, somewhat rare and often expensive on the aftermarket,

 

No, but if the electronics are voice clips from the original va then yes that will bump up the price.

I hope they reveal something great at Tokyo Toy Show this weekend so I can forget about this awesome, big munky bot  

 

He looks much better than the Americana Primal from a couple of years back. But $190 w/ shipping is just too much coin for me. That's pushing into MP Megatron territory. I don't like BM very much, but if he goes on clearance, I may bite since he's actually a rather nice representation of the character.

 

Alrighty Beast Machine fans, buy this up so I can anticipate the next Encore release!
