Already showed him.
But, doesn't hurt to have others see it.
Ouch. People complained the original Primal mold of this figure kept shattering and breaking into pieces. If God Fire Convoy is any indication, Takara-Tomy just doesn’t get it and will potentially release another piece of shit if they don’t fix the problems of the original mold. I predict this will be a disaster like the God Fire Convoy Release. Damn, they haven’t learned and haven’t focused their resources funds in better QC. Gonna see how this turns out.
...Who asked for this?

Ivonko Pettanko!! Yea~y!!
The original figure only shattered because of gps riddeled plastic.
This is what happens when Optimus is exposed to Great One's Wisdom; his eyes go dark and lifeless and a giant eye grows on his chest.
I get the feeling that nobody's going to buy this one, so hopefully it'll be available on heavy discount later.
I was never really interested in this figure, particularly after customising the (in my opinion superior) Blast Punch figure, but the new deco is an undeniable improvement and Beast Machines/BM Optimus had such an impact upon me when I first saw it a couple of years ago that it feels like a sentimental purchase.
It's just a shame they didn't remold the headsculpts. Both are so out of character for Optimus during such a spiritually curious stage and it stings so much that there was a neutral head on the prototype!
I am bummed that Megatronus has no blue on him. The Pretender suit looks good, but the robot is on the dull side, colorwise. Understand the limitations of the size, but man it would have been cool to see a grey and blue Primemaster in this set. This is the same opinion I had with Submarauder, where the Primemaster did not reflect the G1 Pretender robot colors.
Lucky for me I display them in their Pretender suits!
It's hard to believe this will sell in justifiable quantities. TakaraTomy just had a b*tch of a time getting Grand Maximus to sell properly... but this will have a market?
Maybe they're just throwing darts, testing to see if some odd BM/BW stuff sells a bit better. Sort of like how Burger King may start selling tacos one Summer?
Yeah, i do enjoy that Megatronus looks alot like Optimus Primal.
I think they're doing Convoys from 2000 on. This is next after God Fire Convoy (Car Robots aired before Beast Wars Returns in Japan). My hope is that Micron Legend Super Convoy is next after that as he'll probably come with Overload too.
Except they didn’t have any trouble getting grand Maximus to sell properly, he actually met the goal pretty quickly if im remembering right, not enough people cared about the pretender shell
You mean Armada Optimus Prime? Who combines with his trailer and needs a remote control to have his trailer turn into a base mode?
I'd much rather see Deluxe Armada Optimus Prime. Or Energon Optimus Prime with a new, less dinky head.
The remote control is inside Optimus as the trailer was supposed to transform depending on the mode of the cab. It was an amazing idea in concept but not very practical.
The idea is to release the DX Convoys, even if bendy Prime is better. Otherwise, we probably would have seen Blast Punch Returns Convoy instead of the Air-Attack version.
If Encore continues to sell well, there's a good chance we'd see Superlink Grand Convoy DX in time. If they did paint improvements to him, I'd probably be willing to pick up a third set (I Have the original AND the Platinum YotS version).
Electronics always bump up the price of figures. Right now I'm seeing him at $152.17 at HLJ. Slightly cheaper but still seems a tad more expensive even considering his size and electronics in todays toy market.
Oh great! Any help with the Romaji of the phrases? Thanks!
Official Images of Masterpiece Donkey Kong, I mean Encore Beast Wars Return Convoy from Takara Tomy Website.
Do gotta admit he scales better with Supreme class Cheetor. But Blast Punch does scale better with the titanium cheetor and night strike. Beast Machines was definitely one of those toylines that was all over the place on character scaling with the toys. But some of it they did well with the Supreme class Jetstorm later, Air Attack Primal, and Supreme Class Cheetor. But none of the others really got that great of figures until much later.
Kind of makes me wonder if they'll ever revisit those later to go with Generations Tankor. Some of the originals were great. Some not so much, and some would still make some great new characters that weren't Beast Machines like the original dlx Jetstorm that felt more like a machine wars seeker redux/future cybertronian version.
It wa sa really fun line though tbh. I have some fond memories of those toys like DLX Thrust and Jetstorm. And they made some interesting choices with the scout version of Thrust and Supreme class Jetstorm that felt more show accurate.
TBH, this does look more accurate than Blast Punch though. They arms feel more like Primal's differences in the show between his two modes than Blast Punch's. And the scaling to supreme Cheetor and Jetstorm does feel better too.
