Finally, I was wondering when the Takara version would pop up. Does TT Mall ship to the states?

Stock images for Takara version show a lot more paint apps. Particularly on the knee joints and hands. I wonder if they will actually follow through with that or if it will be the half painted Hasbro version...

I'm guessing so, if they show that to be the case.

*goes to cancel his Hasbro preorder...*

The grey around the shoulder area is also a lot more metallic than the Hasbro version.

The Takara Stock images seem to show silver paint on the hands and knees. The Hasbro one has gray plastic in those areas.

Yeah, the colors are actually very different.

Hasbro (grayish car mode parts with black / dark gray robot parts)

TakaraTomy (silver car parts with different shade of silver robot parts)

I would presume TakaraTomy is more accurate, based on precedence. But there are so few good photos of Jazz online (most either being toy or promotional art - which is never a good reference for that movie).

If Takara follow through with this being fully painted then they may well have me back on board for official MPMs. Finally an official MPM with paint to live up to the title. Past experience though tells me this might just be for the stock photography and the actual release won't have as much paint coverage. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this as from everything we've seen Jazz looks like a great figure.

Ummmm guys, this is the same exact release as Hasbro's...
And he's IN STOCK on Hasbro Pulse as we speak...

There's a lot of paint on this little guy. Some of the tolerances are a bit disappointing, but overall it's a great figure. Overpriced? Probably. But he's a Masterpiece!

If the stock photo is to be believed, then Takara's version has silver-painted hands and heels, whereas the Hasbro version has bare grey plastic in other areas - those are the only differences I can see, though. And I wonder how they are going to paint those hands anyway given that they are articulated, unless it's some sort of silver plastic?

I agree he's a great figure. I'm not even a huge movie fan, but MPM-9 looks stunning in both modes, the transformation is fun and intuitive, and he's a lot of fun to handle and pose. My only complaints are that the legs are a little loose on mine, the licence plate was scratched up out of the box, and the silver scratches and rubs easily. I like the figure so much though that I may well pick up a Takara copy too to see if the tolerances are any different as well as to see if those paint differences do translate from the stock photo into real life.
