I love the way the blue paint pops on this figure. No doubt Takara saved the best repaint of Prowl for last.
The G1 Datsuns, to me, are the poster children of G1. I only received and opened my MP Prowl and MP Bluestreak last Friday (!), and they are so awesome, but I'll be honest: the Autobot car I always coveted most as a child (but never owned) was Smokescreen. I just love that deco, and I love the front airdam and back spoiler.

Beautiful. I've got two Smokescreens coming my way via the dad-in-law whom lives in Japan. Can't wait to display him (Smokescreen, not the dad-in-law ) next to Prowl and Streak!
That alt mode is gorgeous, probably the best of the three but something about that bot mode keeps looking off. Maybe the front sport skirt is throwing his chest proportions off. Waiting for my two sets of Smokescreen and will reserve judgment until then.
I like him and can't wait, but....I wish they.... had a second head or something to not be the cartoon head Painted the inner legs red or did something other than gray made those flaps that fill in the gaps over his feet red instead of blue. Aside from that I've always liked the colors of Smokescreen. But I was never a fan of the sloppy and lazy G1 animation of his, almost everyone else was animated decently, except him and maybe Hoist.
Have the same feeling too, it does look like the proportions are off because of the front skirt. Hopefully, it will look good in hand. Yup, sure does! His colors really pop. I wonder why Takara opted for the modified sponsors though, would it cost them a lot more if they got the original sponsors? Would have love to see "Goodyear" instead of "Slotfever"...either way, still like how the figure looks.
It's not announced yet, even the coin hasn't been revealed...if there's any at all. Hopefully there is.
so how do the shoulder cannons work? what are they connected to in car mode? From the look of one o tfhe pics in robotmode the existing shoulder cannons connect somehow. hmmm?
You read my mind. I was in the exact same boat; I would stare at G1 catalogs and dream about having a Smokescreen, but I never got one. Needless to say, SS was one if the first TFs I bought when I discovered the internet marketplace, and he is probably my favorite TF toy/character ever. I made sure to put a lot of stars next to MP SS on the Christmas/birthday list I gave my wife, so she knows *this* is what I want the most
Can't wait for mine. Not so keen on the podgy proportions which are just enhanced by the no-neck head and simpler shoulder cannons/gun, but if they're giving us cartoon accurate everything from hereon out, that's fine. The colours look marvellous. While Bluestreak will always be my favourite since he was my first TF, I have to say all 3 are must-haves at this point. Roll on Wheeljack...
