And me still not working! Ugh, don't say that about October!
Dang, sorry to hear that.
What’s a good way to tell the real MP from the knockoffs? I’ve seen some eBay auctions listing Dinobot as low as $87, and they *look* official. But I want to be sure.
This one for example.

The paint job is the best way. There a few comparison pics between all 3 versions somewhere...I think they might be in the bmb KO thread...
A good rule of thumb is- If it costs less than $180 it’s a KO. The ebay listing you posted also says KO in the title.
The KOs are immediately distinguishable by their paint jobs plus I don’t believe either one tries to mimic the official packaging so you’d know before you even opened him up if you were mislead into buying a KO.
Always read the item descriptions on eBay first as a seller can’t misrepresent what they’re selling so you’ll see the ko information hidden somewhere if they are trying to pull a fast one. However, if they send you a ko when advertising the official then you’ll win a claim in the resolution centre without hassle if the seller won’t rectify the situation.
Where does it say KO? I didn’t see it anywhere. It also lists the manufacturer as Tomy- like Takara Tomy. And I’m pretty sure that guy is using Takara’s official pics. Looks like it anyway.
That guy makes it look official. And I’d be extremely disappointed if I got a KO instead of the real thing.
Chopper Face is only trying to help dude.
Sorry if I came off rude. I really wasn’t trying to be.
If you're looking at the link provided, you're only seeing the universal identifiers. If you click for "more details" or "details" link, it takes you to the eBay listing for the $85.99 Dinobot, which states this in the description:
Ahh ok. I missed that.
Weirdest thing. When I look at it, it doesn’t show the KO part.
“Beast Wars Dinobot Ver figure in stock.”
I'd advice you to order direct from Japan itself were they are 100% Real Thing. They don't do returns though. Some pre owned are MISB. Some opened and inspected. Some transformed. You might as well ask the customer support for extra details but given the beerbug lockdowns, the stores today are not "fully staffed" . I'm more comfortable ordering straight from Japan than from ebay.
Yeah. All the BW MPs I’ve ordered so far have all been new from Amazon Japan. I was just trying to find a better deal on Dinobot. It’s hard to justify nearly $300 for one toy, as good as it is. But I can’t *not* have him either!
Avoid ebay like a plague unless you got 5 members vouching for the vendor.
^This is a pic of the ko.

Yeah that's definitely the KO. It's one of their stock images.
This is probably the cheapest one on eBay right now:

If you don't want to go with a Chinese seller, there's a bunch of Taiwanese sellers on there as well.
It's because you have to click the "see details" part:
I didn’t find it rude. I’d be every bit as keen for answers. Most people who sell KOs use stock photography- even Show Z- so never go off pics alone.
It’s very odd the the ‘KO’ part wasn’t visible on the eBay title for you but a picture of a brighter orange and darker, more glossed Dinobot = the no brand KO. A visible blue panel (which should be brown) on the beast mode hide and ‘buttflaps’ attached to the tail = infinite transformations KO.
Thanks for the info! I will have Dinobot someday! And someday soon, I think!
So I saw two different listings for Dinobot on robot kingdom or somewhere. One had him for the usual $297 or so. And the other was for $250 & said it would release in July. Is he getting reissued again?
Wait, they did a reissue? I just thought it was extra stock. Did the reissue fix the shoulder issue that mine unfortunately had?
