It’s like a really expensive lottery ticket
I took a better look at dinobot's shoulder after work today. The big teeth(tab?) that holds both tabs in has sheared off on both sides. This does not change anything for robot mode. I'm 100% ok with this being the only flaw. Thanks for all the suggestions made here.
I need TT to reissue this.
Damn, sorry to hear. Any pics? It may be salvageable only if the a chunk of the tabs is still there(and if there is a gap per side, I only saw pics showing 1 gap on your copy).
The idea being that if you were to seat both tabs into both gaps, you can insert a piece of plastic(cut off from the tabs that close up sliced sandwich bread loaves), push in 1 of the outer ratchets then insert said plastic piece to keep the ratchets engaged. Then possibly add a drop of rc car shock oil to the ratchets.
What I'm afraid of is that yours may have been defective from the start if the inner ratchet only had 1 gap for the tabs.
I have 2 gaps, both nubs still have the sheared plastic still there. It’s not worth the effort. I’ve said it like 4 times, lol, he’s perfect besides that.
I gotcha. Lol, I was persistent because I thought mine was done for but was able to save it. 1 tab was sheared in half.
Dinobot: Keep Those Ladies Away From Me, They're Nuts!
This looks pretty great!
I am late but I bought mine back when it first came out, didn't transform him right away but when I did, I noticed that one of the eyes on his chest wasn't painted. He's still an amazing figure but it was disappointing to see that. Anyone else have the same issue? Sorry if this has previously been discussed.
so that's how dinobot distracts you in battle, he winks at you with one of his eye nipples.
ah...that old warrior's trick.
Sure it's not a reissue? because sometimes it brings small defects, that was seen with the reissue of the MP-34 Cheetor.
It isn't a reissue, I just made the mistake of not fully checking it out and transforming it sooner. I still love the way he looks though.
P.s. I can no longer unsee the winking chest haha.
Has anyone had the issue of cracking in the pegs of Dinobot’s robot legs...specifically the back knee. I highlighted mine with the red line in my photo. I probably transform or reposition my figures once a month so I never noticed this prior. Also, is the plastic line of the back knee (pointed with green lines in photo) suppose to be touching or closed? I noticed the knee with the cracked plastic doesn’t have the lines touching. I’m gonna touch it up with some super glue but I wanted to know if this an issue others have dealt with.
Update: I superglued the crack. After watching emgo316 video, I realized I skipped a step in transforming him into beast mode. I missed one of the steps in breaking down his robot legs which caused unnecessary pressure on peg hole/port. Smh I’m gonna watch/read instructions every time I transform my masterpieces. I tend to forget a few steps
I'm glad it's not a materials breakdown, but I'm also saddened by your potential costly mistake, one you figured out sooner rather than later to avoid further damage.
This is a somber reminder to us all, especially when MPs are now more expensive than ever. I'm glad you pointed this out, I haven't transformed dinobot back yet, so this is an important lesson for me especially, as I tend to forget things easily, or the in the correct sequence. Thank you.
Yeah, i was glad I caught the issue right away. The crack is now sealed and rested. I practiced transforming the robot leg properly a few times and I dont see any pressure on the plastic. I remember before getting dinobot that the only issue I read to look out for was his robot shoulder hinge. So it was neglect on my part not consider every twist and lock on the figure. With how expensive these masterpieces are, I'm gonna take extra care in handling their transformations. Hopefully, my experience prevents others from damaging their figures.
So I just got MP Dinobot today yeah!! Phenomenal figure. Quick question though.
The shoulder that is prone to breaking. If it breaks can he still be transformed into dino mode?
No, it doesn't prevent transformation. It just stops the joint from ratcheting, which is more of a robot mode poseability issue. And it's the secondary joint at the collar for "shrugging", on top of that, not the primary shoulder ball.
Oh then sweetness. Thank you. Dinobot is pleased!!
