just tried the shoulder joint lube trick...it totally works! I had one super smooth ratchet and one that put the fear of Odin into me. now both joints are smooth as silk.

It makes sense to me that the nub is supposed to completely fill the recess that it barely occupies...it's almost like the piece was designed to fit together, but the parts wound up farther apart than intended or something...

I thought I had read that the nub dips into the recess when you utilize the ratchet, but I didn't notice that at all. Then again, I spent very little time messing with it....I got him in robot mode very slowly and carefully, got him in a satisfactory pose, and put him on the shelf for now.

I imagine some savvy 3rd party or 3D-printed-parts-maker could design replacement ratchets...time will tell.

I’m sure some 3Ps will come up with something; they have a knack for fixing the flaws in official figures

And yet, no third party company has a fix for cheetor's weak forearm panel connectors. In fact, there haven't been much in the ways of 3rd party stuff for these BW MP so far, has there?

1.) Are the forearm panels a widespread issue? My understanding is that there were scattered reports and the superight shoulders were the most common QC issue

2.) The only other BW MP so far has been Primal, which to the best of my knowledge doesn’t have any glaring issues requiring a mod.

I'm not sure how widespread the forearm panel was. I had heard of a number of people with it, and a lot of people were nervous about it.

Perhaps I was just one of the unlucky few, but I would really, really love something I could do about it.

Something I’ve noticed from watching a few reviews already is that the shoulder joint in question was not designed to be a point of articulation for the robot mode. The actual shoulder joint is below the shoulder pad, and if you want to raise his arms straight up then you just have to rotate the shoulder pad 180 degrees. The reason that particular ratchet is tight is that it’s designed to hold the shoulder assembly in place, not to be moved all the time.

Yep. 100%. The natural shoulder joint is quite capable.

Exactly! Why would people assume a joint of all things was designed to survive moving?!

You should have probably received them by now, i got my 2 from them last Wednesday.

And yes its a great figure. Only negative is the dino legs being locked unable to move and how squeaky tight the tail part was when trying to form his weapon. Had to lube it up a lot!

Ok folks; if you break (or decide to disable) this ratchet you will lose shoulder articulation...period. Whether that impacts your enjoyment depends on your standards for articulation I suppose.

My Dinobot arrived today from AE. So far I my only complaint is that I can't get him to stand up in beast mode at all. Is there some trick to this?

Also, in robot mode, is his neck supposed to lock/click into place? Or does it just kinda rest there?

The legs have to have a certain digitigrade stance to them. It's all about balance. (sometimes I get lazy and use the tail as a tripod)

It doesn't click, probably because if it did his head would be really limited in range.

I suppose there will be third party making a properly colored sword.

We suppose 3rd party will do a lot, but they haven't touched BW MPs yet, and most seem to have not even mentioned the sword.

Oh dear, I’m seeing ‘item presented to import customs’ on my tracking now so I guess instead of receiving my Dibobot tomorrow, I’ll be getting a letter to pay a fuckton to parcel force and then have to wait till next weekend to play.

The joint may not be a point of articulation and therefore used less but as @Chopper Face rightly points out a joint is supposed to move without breaking. You do have to move this joint a fair bit during transformation, what difference does it make if it's for articulation or not? The simple fact is it shouldn't break so easily....it shouldn't break at all in fact.

Oh dear...sorry to hear that. I did fear for you when you said you'd ordered two...at least you have a good chance of getting a good one.
