The reason is because Dinobot was my very first Transformer toy.

And there is a story to that, in case anyone wants to hear.

This is AMAZING news. While if have liked a carbot as well, this is about the only other reveal I'd have been ecstatic over.

And I'll start with one of mine.

After years of no Transformers shows, and next to nothing for toys. I thought Transformers was long dead.

Then Beasties (Canada's title of Beast Wars as I found out later) hits the air waves and toys started to enter the marketplaces, reinvigorated the Transformers love within me and I've been buying TF toys ever since.

Thank you Beast Wars and Kenner toys for saving the franchise!

When will Takara reveal MP Dinobot's prototype?

 

Well, I was 7 years old. I was going to turn 8 in a few weeks. After taking me to a play place, my mom took me and my sister to toysrus and told me to have a look around for something I want for my Birthday. There was nothing I wanted until I came to the Beast Wars isle and found Dinobot. I grabbed it and told my mom I wanted this for my Birthday. My mom put it back and told me to run along. I saw her purchasing some stuff, so I knew she was buying it.

For many week I've always pointed out the Beast Wars commercial and left catalogs with Dinobot bookmarked.

Then came the day. I had an animal themed Birthday to hint Beast Wars. A Lion Cake, a Lion Pinata, Animal decorations and Animal themed prizes for games and loot bags. When everyone was playing with the Pinata, I looked at my presents predicting one of them is Dinobot. Finally the time came when I opened my presents... But none of them were Dinobot. All I got was a bunch of Hunchback of Notre Dame toys, Clothes, Board games and a 3 little pigs vhs. When the party continued, I just sat in my room alone, felt like crying. After the party was over, my mom came in my room and asked, "Are you upset you didn't get your Dinobot?" I didn't want to tell her the truth, so I told her a lie. Later on, my mom cheered me up by making my favorite dinner and we watched the 3 little pigs vhs.

The next day, my mom gave me some homework to work on until her best friend came over with 2 late Birthday presents. My mom told me I can open them after my homework. So I finished and got to open my presents. The first one was a K'nex set, but the second one was Dinobot.

Now that we are getting a MP, I couldn't be more happier. This is better than getting news about MP Jazz. I just hope it comes out July, so I can have another Dinobot birthday present.

 

That story is fantastic, Laserwave. I too wanted Dinobot as a kid, but I didn't get him, I got Grimlock and Cheetor as my first TFs. But I didn't care, it was close enough. My mom couldn't find Dinobot, but she could tell they were the same toy and knew I would too. And so Grimlock was forever Dinobot to me.  

I dunno. Can't be too far away. IIRC Cheetor was revealed not long after announcement.

 

Give it a month or two.
