He's not as tall as I hoped he'd be but looks like he got a major overhaul in terms of design.I pictured him to be taller but my memory is the worse,even though I saw pictures of him in robot mode with optimus,oh excuse me,GORILLA CAPTAIN(priceless translation) like yesterday.Could have sworn he was taller though but I am most definitely wrong.The dino mode has most things covered up and the area where knee caps are aren't as obvious as it was originally.Panel lines are a non-issue to me so no problem there.

I wished his base wasn't so bland and unoriginal though but that's staying inside the box anyway so nitpicks are just that.

 

OH Doube FUUUCKKK! I spent so long making my reaction gif, I missed the hi res pics! Sweet Jesus he's unbelievable! I almost pulled my hair out through sheer disbelief! I was headed straight to photoshop to whip up a scale pic with prime and Cheetor and the WHAM, there they are all together! And he's bloody huge!!! Oh man, there isn't enough praise to shower this beauty in! I'll just be typing forever! He's got a frickin' articulated tai guys!! And looks like I was right with he clear plastic adaptor piece for holding the disc; in raptor mode at least. Only downside is that stand. I concede to you @Booster Gold, he could 100% do without that and so could I. Got all excited about an actual diorama base, but sod it, this right here is my dream come to life. It's gonna be a good day!!

 

What is up with that thick lower lip? C'mon man they had the 3d model and they still failed the facesculpt.

Yeah, I don't get the inclusion of that at all. It's just a flight stand. Not integrated into the design like Megatron's, and for a character that can't fly.

I mean I'm glad to get it and Dinobot did do some jumping around and stuff, but I fail to see why it was included.

It's not that, the eyes bug me a bit more. And they didn't "fail" the headsculpt, it's still awesome.

Also, looking at comparisons the sculpt seems to be great, it's just that I wish we would get a head with squinted eyes which is a more common look for the character.

EDIT: Nevermind, it's there, there's just no shot of the face attached to the figure. So most of all is well for me after all!  

 

What are you even talking about? The face sculpt looks just fine.

 

From the looks of it,the sword can be stored in the tail which is a huge plus.

Only wished there was a second tail that could be articulated with ball joints to MAXIMISE articulation aka all directions.But the up and down articulation should suffice.

 

The faux raptor head chest in robot mode becomes the raptor belly in beast mode. Clever.

 

Yeah the eyes seem higher up than where it should be.It makes his face more "retangular"/elongated.It such a slight thing that it just kinda bugs me a bit.

 

Man, it's too hard to type my impressions! I can't stop staring at all of these glorious photos!

Overall I think he's amazing. I'll definitely be picking up two. The bot mode is near perfect. Blows my mind how accurate he is!
I only have two nitpicks. First, the beast mode has a bit more kibble than what I hoped for, but after studying it more, I don't mind it as much. I realize sacrifices had to be made to have his robot mode look as great as it does, and it's near flawless! Besides the gaps, the the main kibble that is shown isn't too distracting since its bronze and blends in with his skin a bit, so not too shabby!

Second, I really wish the upper jaw of his raptor head had teeth. Not sure why TT decided not to do that.

Overall, I think TT nailed it!!! July is going to be a long, long wait...

EDIT: It was pointed out to me he does have teeth on his upper jaw which is great. Still, I wish they were a bit more pronounced, but very minor nitpick.

 

Are Cheetor and Primal still available or just in the aftermarket?

Yup, better than nothing, which is what the CG model had, back then it was one solid piece, aside from the transformation hinges.

So props to them for working it in!

The more I look at it the more I like it. It's just not 100% there for some reason.

It does, they're just hard to spot, look at the picture with the accessories where the tail is detached, you can see them.

HOLY MOTHER OF FUCK!!! BUYING 3!!!!!!!!!

 

Not by much mind you, those things are like 10 bucks at most I think. But still, it's a rather weird inclusion.

 

I'm talking about this:

Headcrest is too short making the nose look too long, the lower lip is thick as hell, face looks wider while the helmet seems narrower. Neck is also too wide. What is up lately with Takara and facesculpts? At least one of the sculpts looks accurate.

 

Oh! So he does! Thanks for pointing that out. Still, I do wish they were a bit more pronounced, but I'm glad they're there!

 

Well, the crest is also shorter between pictures two and three, so it's not like the show was consistent with it either.

To be honest I think the face looks fine now that you gave us comparisons.
