I don't usually go GaGa over Takara redecos, but at this point I wish they did something different just to make this interesting.

 

That's cause no one likes Hasbro Transformers in JP. It's like a downgrade lol... Where as Studio Series here with TakTomy on it makes all collectors here go WHEE!!!

 

I'm actually OK with this, the more it equalizes the less need of ordering imports happen. Save money on both sides.

 

Oh, how I wish we could see Takara's sales figures and profit before and after "brand unification".

 

Except we are now stuck with Hasbro's generally shitty decos.

 

We all wish it goes the other way around, but everyone wants to save money. So quality drops, so the only Takara level stuff will be these studio series and MPs

 

They stopped doing that with generations too, though.

I thought we saw that the TT packaging was different from the Wonder Fest images...

This just further cements my disappointment with the unification. I know I've said it before but the lack of options now really stings. I liked buying both, one or the other or neither. Plus I felt it yielded greater creativity between the two companies when the releases could be different.

And the packaging...sigh...I really did geek out over it.

So does anybody outside of Japan or its neighboring countries plan on buying these and paying more for a slightly different box? Its the same damn toy. Im even considering throwing out my studio boxes since they are going to be available in walmart and target.

 

Like a lot of people, seeing this really makes me disappointed with this whole \"Brand unification\" thing. Takara redecos weren\'t usually something that wowed me but when it came to characters like Astrotrain, the combiners that they released in their Unite Warriors sets and ESPECIALLY the United line with its slick metallic paintjobs and amazing redecos of toys like Classics Megatron, they really made some truly amazing offerings. Then there\'s the Japanese exclusives like Buster Optimus Prime and such that REALLY knock it out of the park. Now seeing that we\'re stuck with Hasbro\'s stuff for both the US and Japan? It really kind of stings. Less so with the Studio Series since aside from one dud they\'ve been really good toys but as far as Power of the Primes, a line that could REALLY use some extra paint and care, is concerned? Oh lord is that disappointing.
