I'm hoping to find the TRU versions of both Rodimus and Ironhide. But just in case I've got the Takara version preordered anyway. I would prefer the TRU ones though since I'm not fond of the shiny paint on the Takara versions.

 

Just as a heads up the Takara one comes out first I believe, since it's due out in less than a month.

In the back of all spark almanac 2 there are pics of all the unreleased toys from hasbro. Hasbro states in the book that they will eventually release them, they will release them that's a fact

 

too true. I think t's awsome. I'll finally have a hot rod coloured hot rod. not rodimus prime coloured.

now if only all future versions of the character could be this colour...

 

last i heard TRU Rodimus and Ironhide was coming out in September. Japanese version end of August.

they said they would get all the new figures that had had their molds made. Since Hasbro is having issues finding stores willing to put out old Animated still, other then TRU, US release after Rodimus and Ironhide is questionable. Japanese Animated has managed to get the figures that wont get a American release out, or soon to be out. i am glad they are doing that. figures like Vortex Blurr and Thundercracker however dont have a high chance of ever getting released.


as for me, he looks good, but those pictures makes me think its the higher res versions of the small pictures we have been seeing for a while now. that is to me why Rodimus looks hand painted. its the prototypes of how they intend to paint the figures.

 

Can you say a Track's repaint.

 

I love the color and the metallic. I could be convinced to cancel the crystal set and get this, but I want that axe.

That would have sealed it for me.

 

Hasbro's version looks much better in color, sorry. The darker maroon is also a homage to the original Hot Rod toy, I never cared for the magenta he was in the cartoon. Pass... When does Hasbro's version arrive in stores, btw?

^Yeah..im with others in that the bling maroon used plus the "un-finished" paint job look really puts me off getting the Japanese Animated Hot Rodimus.  :
Eh...Ill just wait for the Hasbro version (if ever) to hit stores.

Oh my God, I love that paintjob. Might get that instead of the Hasbro release.
