Ah yeah. This is part of the presentation that convinced the two Hasbro representatives to bring them to the US.

And here we have the original colorscheme for Powered Convoy. Ironic we see it now after finally getting a Delta Magnus in Generations.

Oh, that's really cool! Have we ever seen that proto-Ultra Magnus art in that colorscheme?

Yes we have. And the toy was released in Japan as Powered Convoy as part of Diaclone.

Huh, my brain just associated the Delta Magnus colorscheme with Powered Convoy, I forgot there's a silver variant of the trailer.

That is cool, but NOT $4,500 cool.

It looks like they turned the lion Bakugan looking thing into the character Angela in Kiss Players. Whether or not it's the exact same mold, who knows, but it looks extremely similar.

I have an original Hasbro Tor fair Catalog from 1985. It has a cool section on the GI Joe stuff at the time.

The history of those little toys is kinda wild: The Meteor Robo from the Microchange toyline originally came with a little base + guns until they were retooled into 'Jakira' from Takara's 'Mashin Hero Wataru', the retooled versions were then later used in the Japanese Beast Wars line as "Eggbeasts". Then those were made into Angela, Zangetsu and StarDust from Kiss Players.

This listing is nauseating. The BS in the description is off the charts.

No. This is from 1984, not 1983. While some images have shown up in Hasbro files, the toyline was well under way at Hasbro by the release of this catalog.

Yes. It has been published in several over things.

Never released in those colors, that toy in your attachments is a custom.

The main color of PC is Delta Magnus. And there is a silver variant, but it isn't the one in these pics.

Fantastic!! Really brings back memories man! It also reminds me of when I'd first discovered Shonen magazines from Japan back in the early 80s. I'd befriended a Japanese boy and his family that had moved into the building where my family lived. He had the magazines and I literally remember my jaw dropping to the floor at the sight of all the cool Mecha and Super Sentai toys that were advertised in them. I was head over heels in love with all of that ever since! Heck, even the Hello Kitty toys looked dope, lol. Great memories man. Thanks for sharing these images.

For the kids born after the internet age, "catalogs" were coveted by fans and collectors alike for the things they always wanted but couldn't get because stores never had them locally and your parents didn't want to pay the ordering fee to buy it from the book.

... it was sort of like the dark ages but with corded phones.
