What if Takara had to merge with Bandai than with Tomy instead ?

I'd take Bandai quality plamo over Flame Toy's kits any day. If Bandai did Transformers kits they'd be great.

Not that Flame Toys is bad or anything...but their kits still aren't up to Bandai quality.

We probably would have seen deluxe Insecticons reissued but no Omega Supreme or Sky Lynx. I'm okay with how that went down.

It would make the whole Hasbro takeover of Saban and Power Rangers much more synergetic, with Hasbro, Takara and Bandai potentially working together. Right now, it's fairly fractured.

I honestly thought the Takara/TOMY merger would have resulted in Hasbro porting over the Zoids franchise and giving it another crack in the market. Very surprised this hasn't happened but perhaps Takara's relationship with Hasbro begins and ends immediately with Transformers as we haven't seen anything else benefit from the relationship.

I'm also very surprised PlaRail /Tomica hasn't managed to work itself into Transformers in the States by way of Hasbro as it's kind of a natural fit. I'd love to see the Tomica Hypercity incorporated into a post-Cyberverse Transformers line that also merges the Shinkalion brand in with it. Imagine this, but with Transformers interactivity.

Photogenic sculpts prioritized over long term durability/joint tightness paired with recent production runs with allegedly can't be helped unforeseen defects and/or issues at increasingly higher prices and sometimes blink-and-you'll-miss-it preorder nights? No thanks.

Bandai of 2020 isn't the same Bandai that launched Machine Robo 600 Series :(

But they are the same Bandai that just did the Real Grade Sazabi and Nu Gundam, and that's good enough for me.

Could you imagine the nerd rage of having to get up at 2:30 in the morning for a preorder you probably wont get with a marked up after release price on this board.

I'm iffy about Nu Gundam. With the fin funnels on it always seems to be on the verge of instability. Only really works on an Action Base. Still, I love it but as far as RG Gundams go, Crossbone gets my award for awesome.

RG Sazabi though is a whole 'nother level. Goddamn.

Nope, Bandai is good, they just do things different from Takara, that probably wouldn't go over well with a lot of people. Prices are about the same but availability tends to be an issue with their high end stuff. Gundamget pumped out pretty regularly, but there's no rhyme or reason to their MG line.

Bandai can be hit or miss just like any one else. Some parts of them are absolutely killer, some are less stellar. Gundam for instance has been KILLING IT for the last half decade.
