Well, imo Grand Scourge was pretty much an obscure character and just only got a plastic kit model for a toy release..:lol

Well... Don't forget, RID Scourge was called Black Convoy in Japan. Armada Nemesis Prime was called Scourge in Japan. Grand Scourge is a Japanese only name, and while ambiguous, is likely an "upgrade" of Micron Legend Scourge / Armada Nemesis Prime. If he was released in the U.S. under the Energon banner, he would probably have just been "Nemesis Prime". He wasn't released, so it's all just speculation using common sense.

My point is, "Grand Scourge" is a Japanese name, and has nothing to do with Car Robots Black Convoy because he wasn't even named "Scourge" in Japan. It was the ML guy (with his Micron named Sweep).

Lol can we even call that an opinion? >XD

I'm sure (well not factually speaking but my gut feeling) that ML Scourge was named as a nod to the US name for Black Convoy. But that's the only possible connection they would have just like Hotshot being named Hot Rod.

Oh, I'm nearly positive that's why they named him that. (Though I loved how they named his Micron "Sweep" to reference G1 Scourge).

But some people (not necessarily in this thread) get uppity when the "black Prime" gets named something other than Scourge, even in Japan, when he was actually called Black Convoy. Micron Legend was the first Japanese black Prime named Scourge.

The more I see this, the more I dislike it.

I'm not even talking about the combination of colors anymore but also about that sword, THAT SWORD! If they wanted to use a Beast Hunters sword why didn't they better repaint the one from the first BH Voyager Optimus that would have looked very cool in translucent red and black handle?

Where did you hear this? I haven't seen any evidence of such.

He may also have been named Scourge in part too because like G1 Scourge he was a herald of Unicron. So the name works on two levels. It homaged the Hasbro name for Black Convoy and he also served as a herald of Unicron like G1 Scourge.

I surprisingly like the deco on this guy a whole lot. Not big on Unicron Trilogy stuff, but something about those colours make me want him lots.

    Familiar Reflections - Transformers Wiki

Exactly five Autobots cast out into space to recreate the famous 1986 scene, where the Decepticons get new bodies. We have a Prime and we're getting a Prowl in Combiner Wars. FunPub is no doubt going to be using the Combiner Wars molds when they become available.

Of course, nothing confirmed. This is all just prediction.

Ah, I see. I would be more ready to believe that if we knew of a CW Brawn, Inferno, and Ratchet. But still it kind of makes sense.

I could see something like that for the next TFSS.

TFCC making a Shattered Glass Combiner instead of a Combiner Wars Nexus Prime would really suck.

I'm not keen on either idea really. I don't need another Nexus Prime and I'm not sure how much I want a SG combiner. A SG combiner would need to be really interesting for me to want it.

I like it...I passed on Optimus and on Motormaster but this is different enough that even if we don't get new limbs I may just pair him with the Stunticons and he'll look different enough from Intimidator for me.

This is only the second time I've seen HLJ ever carry an eHOBBY exclusive. The other time was Alternity Ultra Magnus.

So they must be ordering it direct from eHOBBY and then selling it to their customers. So they pay 6,500 Yen (or maybe even a discounted price) and resell it for 7,410 Yen.

Ya, I really don't see the appeal of re-doing Nexus Prime. I've got him. I don't need him again but ~20% larger.

*If* Hasbro does make a nice Computron and Abominus, I might be interested in SG versions of them. Color-swapped G1 versions of them were featured in their fiction way back then.
