Takara Tomy Transformers Listings for February 2025 – Studio Series & Legacy

 

Love the SS Bumblebee,but nothing infuriates me more than mismatched paint/plastic coloring; especially when it\'s yellow!  

 

Takara stock photos are so nice. Much better representation of the product than what Hasbro usually does (save for times like Legacy United Wave 2 when they had someone cool on top of it).

What am I supposed to do with this information? What’s the difference between Takara and hasbro?

 

Nothing, in these cases, but I appreciate it as someone living in Japan, as this site is still my main stop for Transformers news and alerts me to pre-orders going up. (Technically Takara-Tomy Mall emails also do, but they also include listings for non-TFs, so I don't check them every time.)

The listing for Bumblebee says SS140. Do they not do sublines or am I missing something?

 

86 just falls under the regular numbering over here. They do have separate numbering for the Gamer Edition stuff. Here’s the full list of TakaraTomy Studio Series releases:

No worries! If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you’ll also find links to all the other lines. Their Transformers website is such a cool archive. It’s really kinda crazy that Hasbro doesn’t have something like this.

 

Core class has numbers too, which honestly I wish Hasbro did as well.

I do wonder why Takara decided to draw the line with Gamer Edition releases, considering they decided to include 86 with their main SS numbering.

Still no SS86 Optimus for some reason. Hopefully they use the extra delay to make sure their version is assembled correctly...

 

I reckon he’ll get announced next month and be a March 2025 release. But yeah, those kind of misassemblies usually get ironed out by the time the factory starts working on the TT batches. Was the same with Legacy Galvatron’s shoulders.

 

This line has a character named Amp.

 

Here's hoping. I pounced on pre-ordering him as an early(?) Christmas present, but cancelled as soon as I found out that this misassembly was widespread and not a rare case.

("But you can fix it yourself, you big baby! Just get yourself some pin extracting gizmos!")

And how much would those gizmos cost? SS86 Optimus is $90, I shouldn't have to fix something that costs that much!

So yeah, let me know when they announce a second batch that fixes the misassembly.

 

WFC Ratchet looks better and better every time we get more photos (seriously I think he might be contender for one of the best SS figures this year), and yet I feel the complete opposite for 86 Bee.

I saw him at GameStop the other day and on top of his vehicle being 2/3 made up of Bumper’s Mazda kibble despite being a brand new mold, the paint matching was just straight inexcusable in-person.

 

Yeah I can't get behind him either. If they retool him into Bumper, my tune will definitely change. For now, I'm sticking with WFC Trilogy Bee.
