Looks awesome, especially that Predaking, but I'm personally not interested since these kinds of stuff tend to be very expensive. For Rodimus I'll settle with the 3P figures, for Predaking I'm fine with my Cang Toys one. But give it a few years, and these will land for cheap on the second hand market, in that case after a few years I'll probably get Adamas Machina Predaking if he's good.

Yes, usually these kind of stuff will end up for cheap in the second hand market after a few years in my country. Idk about yours, tho.

Oh wow, might actually get that Rodimus if the price is decent. Would be a nice centerpiece on my IDW shelf

Awfully wild when you consider that Bandai is already doing Exkaiser in the SOC line. They must be staring knives at Takara over this.

But if the Brave franchise is with Takara explicitly, then what's stopping them from doing their own Braves?

    Firstly, it's pronounced "BRAAAAVERRRRN!"

Secondly, holy crap, BRAVERN?! Does that mean he's an official member of the Brave family now?!

Oh man, Brave figures always looked cool, but they were either bricks or were too huge for my home (*stares at GaoGaiGar SoCs*)

CHUG scale works wonders for me in terms of size, so I really hope Exkaiser is CHUG scale so I might actually nab him.

And if it works out, maybe we can have CHUG scale GaoGaiGar guys that won't take up a shelf and cost an arm, leg, and a kidney?

    Oh man…

So this is basically going to be Takara Tomy's version of Bandai's Metal Build series it sounds like: highly stylized and expensive figures of popular characters with metal parts throughout.

Too bad they decided to base their first release on such a stupid and shitty character (and I say this as a huge Rodimus Prime fan).

This completely undercuts Flame Toys' business model, and that of other high-end licensed figures too. Terrible time to be Threezero. Now that people see Takara can produce the exact same design as a real TF, surely for much lower cost, why ever buy a Flame Toys figure again? They have missed a bunch of product releases too... KKK Cyclonus was revealed in 2021 and never came out. Maybe they are aiming to be bought up altogether.

It’s done in collaboration with Flame Toys, so they’ll profit off of these too.

As long as the price isn't too ridiculous, like for a figure of this size being in the 200s I'd consider acceptable, I can see myself getting it as a one off. It's less likely than if it had been CHUG but I got shelves for less coherent rosters.

Transformable figure by Flame Toys!? Is this the first ever transformable figure from a license 3rd party?

Right, but they can't go back to their prior path of high-end non-TFing figures. Who would pay for one, now that we know there's a real chance the exact same design could come out as a real toy for probably half the price? Can FT seriously think their old market will still be waiting for them after this subline ends?

Yes because people interested in this aren't the same people that were buying their non transforming stuff. Likewise, people buying their nontransforming figures probably won't be in on this either.

Rodders is freaking fantastic. I need to know the size and price so I can begin hoarding in a slush fund. $270 just seems to good to be true. Any idea where that number came from?
