Was hoping Siege Megs would have a neck by now.

Glad that people will have another chance to get this Prime.
Only saw him once in stores. So many missed out.

 

I don’t have a live action movie Optimus. I might get this. I like that the Bumblebee movie homages the G1 versions better than the Bay films did. (Aside from Bumblebee, he still looks very Bay, but that’s one design from the Bay films I like.)

I was comparing with the MPM-12 on HLJ site. I rather like the robot mode on the MPM, and this Voyager is almost as good, and appears to have a more complete truck mode.* A little pricey for a voyager but with recent price increases, not so much more, and then there’s the premium finish.

Megatron looks wonderful, but I’ll stick with my Earthrise version. If they’d offered that version with a metallic premium finish, then I might have replaced him.

*Curiously those ‘cat ears’ that everyone goes on about don’t bother me much, more how the robot leg sections are accommodated in truck mode. Voyager version looks rather neater.

The Megatron mold should be falling apart at this point. I can't even imagine it'll stand up on its own.

 

I was lucky to have gotten the original SS38 Optimus Prime when he released. I even have a 35th anniversary set ordered (with the Japanese G1 reissue, and G1 toy deco SS38 Optimus) but being the sucker I am for this mold, I pre ordered a Takara premium finish edition. When you get down to it, this is definitely one of the finest Voyager Primes out there.

 

Nah, not on this one in particular. It's that with all the versions, I just would at some point like one that isn't 'scuffed', 'weathered', or 'soiled'. Granted, I could do that myself, but...hey, 9 uses of the same mold later.....

Back to your original response, totally it's going for show accuracy....or as accurate as possible with tampo. I get the point of the figure, but it's also okay to want things in a certain way as well.

Some really nice changes to the bot mode; notsomuch the alt mode. Still, this looks like a worthy upgrade.

What's with those unpainted elbows? Why bother making a "Premium" release and not include all the promoted paint-apps?

 

I think I actually kind of like the final one more though, so I'm okay with it this time unlike VW Bee. I'm really only interested in this because I missed the original release though. I could see not liking these changes if you were going to get both. They're almost the same now.

Thanks I think I'll go with the $15 KO version and add whatever 'premium' finish I want.

 

Seriously. What's even 'premium finish' about this? Just the silver paint on the legs? I get there are other differences, like a different color red and autobot tampos but those aren't anything out of the ordinary and shouldn't cost $15 extra.

I think all of a sudden I'm ok with my original release.

 

I’m underwhelmed. But after Bee this was expected. If I had neither and couldn’t paint I suppose this would be the one I’d get. But I’m fine with what I have.

I wonder how to lose the paint is to the final product since he releases it next month?
I sold off my custom paint SS Prime since I was expecting a SS ROTB version next year (Oh how things change) and I had this coming out just in case. So I'll probably be getting this since I need a BBM Prime for my collection (both how good the figure is and to go with the other SS BBM figures) I wish they didn't get rid of some of the paint apps (mainly the other silver grey paint on the rest his arm).

 

I prefer the elbows coloring on the promo pics. But my main reason of considering this one is because it has Autobot symbols on the shoulders.
