Prime looks good, but never been a fan of that megs mold.
I do think this one look more detailed and premium than the Siege PF Optimus does.
I don't understand the earlier complaints that Siege Megatron is a bad figure that does not sell.
Whether or not it is a bad figure is subjective but the poor sales statements are clearly untrue.
I do not understand how this mold keeps being reissued by Hasbro and Takara and people can look upon that as evidence that it doesn't sell.
It is by far the most popular Megatron figure I have ever seen in the 35 years I've been collecting Transformers.
The other matter here though is the similarity to previous releases and the much lamented fact that there still is not a "clean" version of this mold.
In fact, I kind of question the existence of this subline at all because it muddies the waters with other releases.
It shouldn't take such careful study to note the differences.
So the acid storm Starscream repaint is confirmed?
Ehhh...... Prime needs a new figure before anything "premium" is done.
...who the fuck is that seeker?
That prime looks really great.
The problem is that the original one also looks really great...
I need a side by side to tell if this one is greater.
*sigh* Just like all the other releases of this Megs, it comes so close to being something I would really love but falls flat. I dig the silver paint and the "damage" on him but until they fix his fat yet somehow flat proportions and the stupid as can be feet with pop out heels I'm still not spending money on it.
It is Star scream that suffers from the adjustment of the color of the picture. You only need to adjust the color of the picture and it will get the original color.
sorry didn't read the whole post, but wow another prime redeco! weird they posed him with starscream tho... is this sg prime?
These give me high hopes for Ratchet.
okay but why is Starscream even being effected by that color correcting? if the images accurately reflect the Premium paint Prime then color correcting shouldn't be needed
They changed Starscream's colors to make him look like one of the generic Seekers from Bumblebee.
Same fig 2 years ago with extra paint finish?
So like US then JP then that combo Optimus release with the G1 and now this?
Must be really popular best seller to warrant a 3rd pressing.
I like Megatron ; Hasbro & Takara must like him too since they made what 15 of them ? LOL
You know what kinda irks me though is despire the sea of Megatron's they didn't think to make a Purple "Archforce" one yet, or a light grey one accented in Blue (perhaps with the G2 head) that could double up as Megaplex.
There is also no Earthrise Nemesis Prime yet. So I don't mind them going "nuts" on the Megatron's but yeah - i'd rather have a G2 purple one.
If Takara wanted to "mix things up" they could use a different mould to do the same thing Hasbro does ; for example make Shattered Glass Ratchet and Optimus or G2 Megatron with the Siege Moulds, or make some unique Show deco Deluxes, Or just be "creative" and do the sort of things Botcon would have done like Slicer (From Mirage) for example.
Heck there is a whole bunch of "generics" they could slap in a gift set that would require very little effort on their part and that people might even army build.
I'll have to look at this new Megatron closely and see if it's different enough from the "Spoiler" set - looks like it is - as it's accented in red and has some different paint on the legs.
Just imagine the cost of all those forearm fillers though you'd need for over a dozen Megatrons - owch
Why Siege Megatron mold again? No love for ER mold?
In this case, the deco is based on the Netflix series, just as the Premium Finish OP is, so the mold usage is justified.
Megatron looks gorgeous! That's how you do battle damage! Take note, Hasbro!
Optimus looks really pretty with the weathering as well, however I wish the truck mode had silver stripes instead of white.
