I love that. It’s very 1987 nebulon style.
Fusion aesthetics my dude. Strange but cool.

Thanks for the pics! I’m considering swapping a leg from mp44 Spike with mp45 Spike so that each has a magnet in one leg (which should be sufficient for sticking to Prime’s trailer I’d expect). Either that or just swap heads of the two figures to have a magnetized, hard-hat free Spike.

Is it me, or is spike's face a bit more chunky here?

Or if you want magnets in both feet of both figures and are feeling up to it, you could order some of these K&J Magnetics: D11-N52, drill holes in the feet and add magnets.

I think I may do that myself. :)

Oh man that would be cool but I would be more likely to slip and drill a hole in my index finger, while simultaneously destroying poor Spike. Great option for those of you who are super-handy though!

If I do it, I’ll put the leg into a clamp to hold it while drilling. Otherwise I’d likely hit my finger too! Don’t want that for any of us! :D

    A video review from JakeToys:

(I get the impression he's not a fan.)

And some photos from his Weibo page:

Just beautiful. 1:32 and 2:00 are masterpiece moments for me. (Especially with the added happy accident of the wheel turning with the part compression at 1:32, which I know isn't intended, but still lol. Looked awesome.)

The alt mode proportions at 4:09 are incredible to me.

Happy to report quite the contrary, he’s saying he wasn’t a fan before but has been won over. He said the transformation looks messy but has a very clear logic to it, the parts although tiny have good tolerance and fit together nicely, and the engineering to compress the ‘bot mode down to such a small chibi alt mode is incredible.

I was wondering, he took some pretty nice pictures to be "meh" about it.

Great! I’m glad to hear that, as I’m looking forward to this. Thanks for providing the gist of the review.

As pointed out to me by the esteemed @WildBill, MP-45 PO price on Amazon Japan seems to have dropped by another 219 yen (and Hound by 65 yen).

So since I've already pre-ordered, will I get that reduced price or the price I pre-ordered at?
