Could I buy the left forearm/bicep off you Sam? Mine has a weird fingerprint paint smudge. Super minor but a little distracting in the right light.

On topic:

As always, TT's stock photography makes the humanoid faces look fairly awful. Ironically MP-21 had a particularly terrible case of that. That said, I do wonder how many people have come around to the face based on the most recent set of photos:










Sadly even though the prototype shown here has better paint on his face and a nicer shade of yellow, his glass isn't tinted blue and he's also mis-transformed. Looks like they never quite get it right! I'm sure they will on the final version.

I think the scribed lines on his face were absolutely the right move to avoid it being washed out.

 

I definitely like the sculpt a lot better in the NWTF photos - this is the photo that gives me the most hope:



*That* actually looks like a very good Bumblebee sculpt. If that had been the first photo I'd seen, I'd have been more excited.  

 

I'll concede the face sculpt looks much better in those new pics.  

What really sinks this fig for me though is, alas, those God-awful sled shoes making the feet look crappy from any angle but the front.

They really should've found a way to better collapse or hide those windows in bot mode, IMHO, before sending this little piggy to market ...

 

I'm still astonished at Takara's price for this minibot. This along with Prime 2.0's price shows that this is the new normal for Takara.

Based on what people have been sussing out so far in the other MP-45 thread, his transformation seems really interesting and involved, and there just isn't any available space in the body for his car doors. Maybe without the opening door gimmick they probably could've been folded around differently, though.

I think they look alright from the side as well:





At least his feet have their own swivel joint, so kinda like how you could hide MP-10's fat tyres, it's also possible to angle Bumblebee's feet to hide the heels:



It's not ideal, but they honestly don't irk me anymore than MP-21's hollow-forearm/forearm-flap combo.

Actually I'm pretty happy this time around we got nice clean forearms. While I don't mind the kibble on Ironhide or Sideswipe's arms, I really do admire the tidy arms of Sunstreaker, MP-44 and MP-45.

I know from experience with MP-21 that these nitpicks that we're examining on blown-up images will seem pretty insignificant in hand.

 

Well and diligently argued Sam, regardless of whether I agree.  

Who knows, this may be another case like MP-28 Hotrod's "bib chest" that didn't bother me remotely as much in person as in pics.

hold on now, he might have a point, notice how the doors rotate as well as hinge out, now it might be double hinges but if that is the case, then the door might be able to swing around to cover up the sides of the feet

 

I honestly think this looks very well like the G1 Bumblebee. Impressive!

 

I really love the look of this figure in both modes. Already Pre-ordered. But, I’m really hoping we see a Cliffjumper announced soon now. Come on Takara!
