I understand that they wanted to make the dinobots colorful but the green on Snarl is a bit too much for me to stomach. I will wait for some repaint, despite loving the look of this toy.

 

Tak-Tom will always have movie accurate colors..
TRU's planned to be released (there's no update as yet when) Autobots United 5-Pack Bumblebee though better painted compared to it's single retail version still is no match with this Tak-Tom version....

This toyline now really draw a big line between Hasbro and Takara version. A big line that can make you decided easily which version to get given you have access to both products.

Back then, one can live off getting Hasbro version regardless if it has an available Tak-Tom version coz the difference is just very minor. Now it's difference leaves a huge gap of paint app quality.

 

Why are people still seeing two dino heads on snarl? The grey 'head' on his leg is clearly just the unpainted inside part where the head has split for transformation.

 

I don't think so, here's why:



1 RED;
Green head swivels outward prolonging the neck in dinomode.
Grey head only swivels backwards in robot mode, it couldn't extend that way far enough to get to the point where he is in dinomode.

2 Blue;
The tip of the head is rounded and not sharp like the head would be if it were devided.

3 Yellow;
Yaw doesnt seem to be hinged in grey, and I dont see a jaw that small being divided without easily breaking the figure after 2 transformations, too thin. Also in Dino mode the head isnt half green/grey, but this could be photoshopped.

just my 2 cents though.

Has that 5 pack been confirmed as a TRU release?

 

Sadly digging this new BB - kinda looking forward to Stinger now too.

Not sure about Snarl now - will have to see some reviews...

 

Lime green dino stegosaurus- eh no. Design wise for both modes however are stupendous!

 

Welcome to every movie toy ever?

Toys take around a year to design. They can't account for all the changes made along the way if they want the release to coincide with the movie's theatrical run.

 

actually.. takara's versions on some of these things aren't as accurate as i'd have expected them to be.. and going by the previous movie lines, they don't really go too far out of their way to use accurate colors like they do with generations figures.

i mean, look at the dinobots.. slug, scorn, slash.. they're all the same colors as hasbro's.

even their exclusive rusty prime isn't all that accurate, it basically looks like a flat grey prototype with some brown smudges and a couple flames.. there isn't a single version of that mold that is accurate which is a shame.

also, with drift, i'm surprised they didn't go with a black color scheme since he looks black most of the time in the movie.

i agree their figures are different, but not as different as other lines they've done, which is common when it comes to movie figures.

yeah, if you look at a head on shot of his dino mode, his head and neck clearly look like they don't split apart.

it's possible that maybe some concept art showed the head split like that or something.. similar to the jaws on scorns thighs.. who knows.

the only thing i REALLY want to see out of takara at this point are more DMK's. that's all i want.

i know that we're not going to get better scaled versions of slug, scorn, galvatron, or lockdown.. so, i'm hoping that we at least get a DMK of lockdown.

 

If they really want to make it "Movie Advanced" they should have more detailed transformations especially in the hands. The whole having the bottom of a hand blocked by a panel in robot mode is really annoying

5-packs' BB has
-almost same but more detailed body paint
-show accurate gray toes
-painted wheels
-painted forearm/sidebody
5-pack BB is undoubtedly superior.

 

UGH again with the unpainted rims, I fuckin hate unpainted rims

 

That Bee actually looks GREAT to me.

 

I am really liking the look of this new Bumblebee. Aside from the backpack that is. Hopefully it can be removed somehow.

 

So why are BBTS and TFS saying this and Slog are coming out in a July? If these are August releases, where's Slog then?

 

Snarl really does remind me of a less chunky Energon toy. Explicitly toylike colours and lots of translucent plastic does that, I guess. I wish the solid green was a little darker but other than that I kind of dig it.

 

Movie accurate Bumblebee

 

oooo snarl looks so good...yet again the dinos are the gems in this line. though that bee does have me excited for a stinger, if we ever get a deluxe stinger i mean. ive never liked movie bee's chipmunk face

 

Well shoot, looks like I'm getting the new Bumblebee. I've been waiting for better pics of him. The one I've seen wasn't transformed properly.
