Hound does look cool. I’m more in for Prime then hound though. But the +’s are above both.
    They are some great photos.

    Lol understandable.

The reflection on Prime's crest on the bottom photo makes it look like an AKOM version.

Lol that’s the closest you’ll get to an AKOM Prime.

I used to buy from them all the time, everything was fine then one day I got a Masterpiece Megatron with a wrong part from them. They straight up refused to help, lied about the toy being out of production and refused any form of refund. I'll never buy from them ever again.

Was MP-44 on display at SDCC? I couldn't find any photos or footage anywhere...

Please post if you know of any! Thanks!

Yeah it’s a more Hasbro attending event. Unless there’s some cross promotion.

Better odds of seeing Takara go to White Castle or Takara escape from Gitmo.

MP-44 wasn’t on display at SDCC. But he was on display at New York Toy Fair a few months ago, which isn’t an event that Takara goes to either. He was on display alongside MP-17+, MP-20+, MP-43 and MP-45, who all have or will be released through Hasbro Pulse as well. So if Hasbro want to show these guys off at their own shows, looks like they can.

Any chance to see him before he is released elsewhere?

A little late now, but you probably could have opened a dispute with your credit card or Paypal at the time.

But good to know NY is shitty with after-sale support...

To add to the Nippon Yasan experience:

I had to return an item that arrived broken (non-TF). I had to pay for return shipping, which is no worse than what Kapow Toys ask anyone outside the UK. I did get a refund, but during the entire process my account was blocked. It remained blocked afterwards. Possibly a further email to them would have unblocked it, I don't know, but instead I just opted to make a new account for my MP-44 order.

I don't know if Nippon Yasan have a telephone number on their site, but recently when I had an issue with Anime Export a quick phone call solved it pretty quickly. Don't underestimate the power of talking to someone directly.

Sadly, I couldn't because I preordered day one and paid upfront. I had no reason not to trust them at the time.

New York Toy Fair! Thrash the one. Yeah it would’ve been cool if they showed some off like Blackarachnia or even Prime.

    YouTube (Legacy):
I’ve been rewatching season 2 again, and I gotta say I see more frames of MP-44 than I do non-44 styled drawings. He’s just very aesthetically pleasing to look at. Or perhaps, “very pleasing to my optic sensors”. I can’t wait to see him in person next to my other bots so I can finally get an accurate feel for how chunky he is. All these stand alones make him feel slightly skinny (which is a complaint I’ve seen) and all the group shots have him too far away from me to get an accurate idea.

I also think it’s pleasantly ironic that the most accurate G1 Optimus Prime to date has the most original transformation.

Additionally, I’ve often wondered why I say “good grief” so much when I have no memories of my family saying it regularly. I’m currently watching Day of the Machines and just heard Optimus say, you guessed it, “good grief” in the same tone I do. I guess my subconscious latched onto it since that episode is one of my favorites o_O

They were at SDCC too, actually. No stand under their own name, but the Unicron designer was present.

Man the wait is getting harder and harder. I hope there won't be a last minute delay.
