Anyone ever wonder where your MP-44 is right now ? I’m gonna say mines coming down the assembly line and forming via voltron style as I type . Form feet and legs !

I do wonder how long the training process is for the workers to learn how to assemble Prime. How the assembly line is sectioned off for the part of the body that a crew has to assemble. How long the hours are and how many QC errors have to be eliminated. A 2% failure rate is acceptable so here’s to hoping the process goes as smooth as possible.

Question about Amazons discounts. Let's say I ordered Prime when he was first available and was looking at a price of about $320. But then decided to cancel him because he was too much. If then had a change of heart on missing out on him and ordered him again now that the price has gone back up, do you think the price for me would ever get back to where it was? Or have I missed that one time low price?

I would imagine you've missed out, and it's too late. But maybe contacting customer service could get you somewhere.

    Is this hypothetical?

Mostly. I did preorder him initially, I did cancel him, and I'm having a bit of remorse for cancelling. I think maybe my best bet is to hold off, wait for reviews and hope for the inevitable reissue. I got the MP 36 reissue at an amazing price. Perhaps I'll do the same again

I would say try again. If it doesn't happen, cancel before the 12th

If you can wait, then you'll at least be able to get the reissue at the same deal. Possibly better, since they'll likely over-produce for the reissue.

That said, maybe there's someone with an Amazon Japan order who wants to cancel, and they'd be happy to pass their pre-order over to you.

Rewatching G1, and there's some early S2 episodes with some really great animation of Prime. Traitor comes to mind, and in Changing Gears I was pleased to see a shot where his backpack is visible from the front, just like MP-44

Seems to be the case in a few episodes where Prime is well-drawn.

There's also plenty of episodes with a 'blended headsculpt'. The eyes and antennae of the S2 head, with the helmet shape and mouth plate of the S1 head. Would be cool to be able to mix and match, guess we'll see how they're assembled.

Perfect segue @Sam! :lol  I was just about to post these shots from "Enter the Nightbird" where Prime is very well drawn most of the time, usually has a bigger backpack, and in general has very MP-44 like proportions:

Also I love that MP-44 will be able to hold his gun like this, and in fact they seemed to pose him just that way on page 10 of the Generations book:

Eagle eyes and great screen caps, @Sam and @chchchch ! Sam, love that you're working your way through s2. It's bonkers, just all over the place in terms of quality of animation, writing, and tone. One of the reasons I love it! Traitor and Changing Gears did indeed have terrific animation and they hadn't yet had any s2 characters at that point. Anyway, yes, 44 perfectly encapsulates cartoon Prime. Feels like a miracle, like it shouldn't even be possible. I know a lot of fans look at these things as *just* toys, but for me a figure like MP-44 is a work of art. A work of art with deep significance for this 40yo manchild. $320 shipped from AJ is nothing to sneeze at, but the joy I'll get from the figure will faaar exceed that.

Totally!! This figure is a pop art masterpiece, for lack of a better term, that perfectly captures the iteration I love most of the character I love the most (whose design is itself another great work of pop culture art). For me, I will easily get more enjoyment from him than I would from 4-5 Hasui carbots.
