One thing to call out on these recent pics is that the antennae on this prototype appear to be unpainted translucent plastic where as the rest of the helmet looks like painted plastic. You can see it in the highlights in the pics @Sam posted.

As for a movable mouth-plate it definitely looks like we are going to get them!

I’m not too sure about a mouth plate that moves. I’m not seeing a gap that would provide enough clearance for the plate to simulate talking. A great bonus if it does, but I doubt it. Can anyone drum up a picture showing the back of Prime’s head? That would give us a clearer answer.

I don’t think those antennae are translucent, I think it’s just the light playing off the blue plastic coupled with how thin they are that makes them look that way. And it also looks to me that the rest of the head may not be painted in that photo as well, but I could be wrong. Either way I am a little disappointed—and slightly worried—now that we can see that the antenna aren’t die-cast.

I’m not seeing any type of lever that can move the mouth plate. Could be button activated or manually manipulated if the feature has been added in at all.

Also looks to be a ball jointed neck.

I don’t know guys; either that protruding block is what the head slides onto so that it can be easily replaced by screamer’s head (i.e. inferno) and just isn’t completely pushed in, or that’s a button!

Hmmmmm now seeing that piece pushed all the way in makes me think that it is the same design as inferno. But fingers crossed that there’s just a way to lock the button in (even though that’s pretty far fetched at this point).

From the pictures You and I just posted, the block does look more like a button than an incomplete assembly job. I can buy that theory for now.

I'm pretty sure it's just a transformation step that allows the head to rotate in certain way.

I don’t know if that potential moving plate is something but it could be nice if it happened as it would remind me of the Armada OP. It adds a lot of life to the figure.

I think the mouth plate MAY be poseable like mp Dinobot’s lower jaw but I doubt very much that it will move around with a button push like mp1 Prime. Of course we will find out for sure soon enough!

I would imagine that TT would tout that feature if it were there. I’m keepimg an open mind about the mouth plate unless we’re graced with any information from @Phamduc or @TTemploy.

Is the $391 USD (approx) pre-order price really the cheapest price out right now?

You can always gamble. People were able to get BW Megatron and the discount after release, because they received another order( and screwed up some peoples). I'd imagine there would be another run sometimes after his release you could hop on, if your inclined to gamble.
