Certainly not the waist slider! Aye!
From ToHo 東京おもちゃショー2019 タカラトミーその2の巻。
Mmm. That angled shot.
It's all about how the angle and shadow of his brow creates the exact same look as in the movie
Yes! This sculpt nails this moment, as well as "Megatron must be stopped", not to mention the battle damage for later scenes, all of which are what play through my head when I think of Optimus Prime.
Only 73 days left!
Yeah, they totally nailed it. Tempting...
It's funny how the correct angle taken of an image we've all seen hundreds of times the past week can be so breathtaking. I literally jumped out of my chair when I scrolled down to that Prime pic. SO DAMN GORGEOUS!!!!!
And that ladies and gentlemen, is how you win a high end collectible award.
Fortunately he didn't have to go up against that 1/60 Gundam.
Me too! It’s just shame I’m a tennis umpire and it was an 8 foot drop...
Sooo much want...!
I'm confused about his mouth-plate. In particular, the 'W' shape to it (which I believe it was only drawn like in the movie)
On the one hand, here it almost looks like it's one and the same piece as his face:
But in this photo we can't see the 'wings' of the 'W'.
They were much more visible in the past:
Even still a little visible here:
And another photo at TTS we can just see them too:
So is the mouth-plate a little bit movable, or is it just my imagination?
I think they are still there, but the "angle" makes the "cheeks" cover them fully.
I should have probably started buying those AJ gift cards before when the exchange rate was around 111 to pay off my MP44. It's starting to dip a bit more.
Sorry Sam, but that’s all one piece. The only seam between the plate and his face is created by the change in angle with the plastic. In the most recent show’s shots, it’s definitely one molded piece. Any two pieces of plastic, no matter how close together they are, will have a distinctive enough seam, moreso than that.
Man, I'm loving how vibrant the colors are on this guy! Absolutely stunning paint job. Looks like the helmet is bare plastic here - Hope it's painted blue in production! I'll be surprised if it's not.
Great job sussing out the detachable hands, guys!
@Sam , I'm thinking the same thing. Not sure if it will be movable or if the mouthplate was simply glued higher up (the preferable position) on this particular prototype. @Prime of Shadows , I could be wrong but I think it looks like one piece here because the paint is sealing the gap between the plate and face. Remember the show appearance with the s1 face where the mouth plate was too far down compared to other shots we'd seen of it? The tip of the nose was even hanging out! Seems clear it's a separate piece there and is either movable or glued too far down.
Also, check out these shots of the detached faces where it looks pretty clear the mouth plates are separate pieces.
Again, I could be wrong! Can't wait to find out either way in just a few short months!
Separate names with a comma.
