I trust you. Even though it takes about a month to count to a million lolz plus transformation time.
mine was 330 now thats shit is at about 41,000 yen
I gotta try this one time with a harder figure.
Make sure you record it
Stockholm Syndrome to the max!!
^^That was polite.
To clarify: I definitely love the real world transformation seams, that actually serve a purpose and I think they look really cool, visually breaking up the clean smooth shapes in interesting ways (e.g. Megatron's thighs).
That said, if Takara or some 3P released screw-hole covers for every MP I would definitely buy them. The screws are a part of the construction of toys, I just kinda imagine they aren't there, and not once did I profess my love for them
Well, they do put screw covers on the BW stuff, I know Dinobot and Megatron have some screw covers.
Yup, and they are much appreciated. Would've been nice if they had used them on Megatron's legs, too.
Prime has almost none visible from the front, and some of the screws on the prototypes might end up being pins on the final release, as was the case with Megatron.
Uh, we have another stand up comedian here!
I mean, real robots have rivets and screws and bolts everywhere. Seems logical to me that some transformers might have them in some places. But thanks for waiting to say that until after I’d been insulted, Sam.
I assumed I was the one being insulted, actually.
We’re just a couple of Takara’s hostages, eh?
I'm pretty curious why those enlighted guys (like the great comedian above) spend time with us inferior beings in the forums ...
Guess so lol. They’ve earned my loyalty in consistent excellent design and execution. Sure there have been a few qc bumps in the road, but every company has those and it’s extremely difficult to prevent them, as noted in an article I read linked in the BA thread about Macross. More intricate design = higher parts count = more wasted plastic in the qc process = higher asking price to recoup their losses. Frankly I believe in brand loyalty to a fault so I’m willing to pay a little more to support the designers and since they’re making the figures more and more complicated they sure aren’t giving me a reason to stop. Besides, when you’re on a limited income you have to use your money intelligently and I’d rather support the company with the rights to the intellectual property, as much as I believe in what the 3Ps do.
Yeah that Macross article was really interesting and enlightening, reposting it because why not:

I'm hoping that MP-44 has superb and durable paint, most of all. That said, my original run MP-36 is so worn (battle damaged ) that a matching Prime would be ok with me too. Gonna be messing with him so much even durable paint will probably get worn.
Brand loyalty is cool, as are people buying whatever they want. Most important is we don't shit on each other's choices, right? Sometimes seems like a big ask for some people.
I just prefer TT's figures to any 3P efforts I've seen, which isn't surprising considering their design team has decades of combined experience under their belt. I can admire 3P efforts in the same way I admire the awesome kitbashes that @OptimusTimelord and @Jarrod used to do (so worth checking out their stuff in Radicons). We know that former Hasbro designers work with 3P companies (the designer of Classics Bumblebee did those oversized Soundwave cassettes), and I'm not disparaging their work at all, but like you say we only have so much space on our shelves and cash in the bank
So where's the best (cheapest and reputable) place to pre-order him at this point? My initial shock at the $449 price turned me way off, but seeing some folks find it for cheaper has me hopeful.
I hope there is an early review before I committed to preorder / buy. A widespread QC / design problem with this expensive toy would be quite unfortunate...
Thought I'd swing by this thread for the first time in yonks to see if, now we're nearing 900 pages in, everyone had started to behave.
How foolish of me.
Well just wait. I mean I go around Blackwidow and Convoy 3.0’s threads loving them but have I placed down one preorder? No. Cause I wait. I wanna be sure all goes well.
