Pre-ordered mine just now through Anime Export. He looks great so far (I still need to get used to that faceplate, maybe it'll be better in person). I will say, I'm glad I'm saving roughly $100. AE was phenomenal to me in the past with Megatron; why not with Optimus?

I can now afford a new toy AND a night out. LOL. I just did the math and went ahead and canceled my Big Powered Box Set and ThreeA Bumblebee preorders. They were the same cost, and Optimus is my favorite character. I still might grab the ThreeA Bumblebee if Siege Omega doesn't grab me, since they're around the same cost. But Optimus > Zone Brothers.

That battery/speaker box on his back is atrocious. Should have put the electronics in the trailer or put a smartphone sized speaker in there instead of compromising the 'perfect' Prime. Absolutely no excuse when they are charging what they are.

Well, I'm still not buying it, but I'm still posting and reading cause it's entertaining as shit and I don't have anything else going on.

I just transformed MP 10 into a cab for the first time in forever, and I'm still convinced he's the boss. I think it blows the new cab outta the water.

Robot mode is purely subjective. I prefer MP 10 but I totally get why people like 44 better.

But I don't think 44's cab is anywhere near as good as 10. I think people wanna believe it is cause it's new and expensive, but deep down, they know it's not.

 

I'm hoping it's just the prototype or bad angle that the cab isn't a perfect 90 degrees with the rear tow/axles (forgive me I don't know the real part names).

 

I hope your sister is doing better. I'm sorry about your puppy.

Also, @Sam , I found another shot that's fairly close to the damaged head we're getting. Seems like they averaged out the shots of his damaged head from The Movie and came up with something that evokes nearly all of them. The damage head will be great if you want to pit him against damaged Megatron or have him dying using the trailer as the death bed. Lots of morbid fun to be had here!





If I have time I'll try to go through my copy frame by frame to see if there's a shot that better matches, including those eyes

Someone did a pretty comprehensive comparison to a real Freightliner a few hundred pages back, and MP-44's cab is significantly more real-world accurate. Some of the main points include the front wheel wells being further forward (allowing the little ladder to be in the correct position for someone to actually climb in the door), actual opening doors, bigger side windows, a thinner back hitch area that doesn't look like robot legs and hitches further back to create greater separation from the trailer, and a hitch area that looks like a mess because real ones look like a mess.

It's still subjective overall, but there are objective reasons to prefer MP-44's.
