    Right I just tried it with my US freight forwarding shipping address to test it out and it was only 1,200¥ which is extremely cheap.

    Only way to hedge your FX risk is to short Yen against it, which I don't think anyone here cares to do for this amount.

    Even if the yen is trading 100 yen to the dollar it is still roughly 100 bucks cheaper for me. The yen would have to shoot up like crazy!

    So my import tax was 10,000 yen - so they automatically calculate how much the tax is going to be depending on the country where it will be shipped? I dont need to worry about our Local customs ringing me and saying "hey you need to pay xxxx before we release the item?" the list price was 36K yen however when I checked out it was only 34K yen....hmmmmm

    Or just use Amazon Giftcard to pay the full amount now. Done. You give up on any future better prices though.

    $450 is a month's rent for us.
    $315 is cheaper most Soul of Chogokin, ThreeA or Flame Toys toys. I can budget around that and not feel uncomfortable.
