I’m underwhelmed. It is better than MP-01 and MP-10 for sure, but it isn’t perfect. The heads are “good” but not perfect for me - was really wanting a definitive Prime in that regard and this is frustratingly close. The backpack is a bit excessive. I’m down for it and I’ll enjoy the heck out of him, but I hoped he’d blow me away and I’m just pretty satisfied.

Also thanks @TTemploy for the dimensions on the shipped box. 90cm is pretty large. In my experience NY only leave around 1.5 inches of space around the actual box dimensions so with some luck we can get that shipping quote down a little. Do you have any info on when Hound will drop or if we can expect any repaints in the meantime?

Okay, so my thoughts on the figure... I'm overwhelmed and underwhelmed at the same time.. a complete state of balance. I'm not usually ever sold on the weird grey linoleum pictures we've come to love.. When I see him in Generations with the ethos and context behind his design with some better taken photographs etc I'm sure I will fall in deep love.
One thing I will say, although I prefer Koyabashi's work; Shogo Hasui designed much better heads and faces.. I'm really not sure I'm feeling Starscream's face, he reminds me of the badly drawn episode where his ghost stole Trypticons eye, a little too maniacal and caricature-like.
I also wonder if we will see the battle damaged chest pieces or Carly later.... if not, oh well.

So soooooo glad we finally got something of an update!!! Now if only TT could make him MP48 or 50 and bloody give us some new shit in the meantime

My biggest criticism of the newly revealed accessories is that the eyes on the season 1 head look way too small. It really takes away from the look.

 

People may want to stop crying about the Pricetag for now. Looks like Takara had BBTS remove it because that Price may have been posted prematurely.

Small glimmer of hope?

 

I feel like Hasbro will certainly release their own version of MP-44 some time after Takara-Tomy's initial run and it will not cost as much. So, I am sure many will likely hold out for that version. The only caveat would be if they released it as a convention exclusive, which then might also jack up the price. It probably would have also been a Hasbro Toys R Us exclusive in the past, but with the current state of "Geoffrey's Toy Box", this could also turn into a BBTS exclusive. However the Hasbro version is released, I think it will be cheaper. Also, if MP-10 is any indication, Wei Jiang and other KOs of MP-44 will be a big thing and the price will certainly not be an issue. I guess ultimately, if you like the mold, but hate the price, those that are patient will likely have options.

So many little accessories to recreate niche moments, but no effort made to recreate the axe handle uppercut he uses to finish off megatron? to be honest, I had almost assumed that was the entire reason for V3's existence after they put MP Megs with all the battle damage from the movie.

It looks really, really good in color. Enough to make me almost consider the price, but overall I don't think it's $450 good. $350 would have me, but not half a grand.
