I doubt it. Why would they share that? For every collector that understands the retailer has to make some money too, there are a hundred if not a thousand that will be outraged at their "scalping."

This price point is actually making me question my entire MP collection. I won't be paying this, it's outrageously expensive. That means my MP G1 collection will now never be 'complete', and I hoped the jacked up prices of the Beastwars figures were due to size/complexity/a smaller addressable market etc, but now I fear that Hound will come with a +$100 pricepoint too, and I simply can't justify spending that much.

I could make a tidy sum selling off what I have...

BTW, this may be the first MP figure I'll order through Amazon Japan rather than Nippon-Yasan. If they allow shipping to Europe, of course.

Why anyone would order this from a US store is beyond me.

So the price is confirmed then? That´s a pretty hefty tag indeed. I don´t own an MP prime, and this looks sweet, but that is just too rich for me.

That is just crazy high. I’m not going to miss this figure (not getting it from BBTS though), but consider my limits officially tested.

Well if that is confirmation (which it isn't but its a good indication)...Im definitely out. Still waiting for official word on it though, I wont fully believe it until I see the AJ, AE, HLJ or Nippon-Yasan pre-orders go up.

The fingers move and the modern versions have heavy diecast. They are also 12 inches tall and a lot of accessories and life like sculpts with a premium paint job. As well as light up parts.

Typically I am not one to complain about prices in this hobby, but the cost for this figure seems particularly egregious and exploitative. Sure I don't need it and no one is forcing me to buy it, but it is disappointing as I cant justify the purchase of an action figure at this price point. I recognize that if I snag a pre order from Japan directly I may potentially shave a 20-30% off, however it will still be in an uncomfortably costly range for me. While I can afford it technically, I simply dont prioritize toys, action figures, adult collectibles over other hobby interests and necessities that actually serve a more practical function at an equivalent cost. Anyway I know that there are many here that dont care and whos' mantra is "if you dont like it dont support it and shut up about it", but it is sincerely unfortunate that each successive release lately has been pricing me out of the hobby. I have invested a great deal of my time and money in it for so many years and would love to continue to be involved. I guess that the frustrating part is that yeah it was always slightly expensive to collect MPs and costs rise in general, but in the last year or so it feels like the base price of these figures has effectively doubled and that level and speed of inflation is disproportionate even when accounting for more expensive materials and superior engineering techniques. Ultimately I cant help but feel that this price is hostile to the hobby and to us as collectors.

Awesome fig but after seeing that price tag? Hard pass.

When 3P is cheaper than official.....you know you've got an issue.

Because then people will confuse the translated foreign price and the imported domestic price. You see it all the time with people moaning about BBTS prices because they forget about the Pacific Ocean and everything else between Asia and Wisconsin.

I wonder if this will end up like MP-41 and be sold out despite the high price and then increase like crazy in value to maybe 75,000 yen due to inexplicable demand after release.

You aren't paying for engineering with MPs, though. It can be the appeal, sure, but the cost is in the parts count, materials, paint, finishing, etc;... Hot Toys have similar part counts and blow MPs away in the other three areas.
