Yep, or at least an option for one with and one without. Just make the V3 compatible with the MP10 trailer.

A V3 was an eventuality anyway, so if true, an not the least bit surprised. Especially after Megatron.

 

I'm gonna go back on what I said here a bit, as comparing to recent "Deluxe" MP offerings like Megatron, and the upcoming Dinobot, TakaraTomy seems likely to include some sort of display stand. I can very well see them designing a new trailer with a support arm that folds into the deck.

I don't know how to feel about this one yet. A more articulated Prime for the 35th anniversary would be great. But not too excited on the thought on if this leads to updates on more characters in favor of new ones.

 

Or more toon accurate if you prefer  . Either way - just something that reminds me less of those fake jacked up trailers they made for the fast and furious movies so that cars could drive under them - cos cars can’t really drive under trailers. It’s really a flatter back end of the cab I’m hoping for - the trailer can work with that. MP-10 jacked up trailer could optionally work with a little adaptor to raise the hitch.

 

That would be definitive Optimus Prime figure for me. I hope it’s very close to that.

Always a possibility, but I wouldn't consider it a likelihood. He's already designed to be close to 'toon accurate (thicker proportions aside), and he's less an iconic character than Prime to deserve a do-over.

It will be out in a few days. We usually get early leaks like this whenever there is juicy news in the issue. Presumably from people who get their copies early or from folks working somewhere along the magazine's distribution line.

 

The thicker proportions on MP-22 do look a bit off to me. Plus if they can find a way to get slimmer portions and incorporate the trailer armor, color me interested.

I thought it was one of Hasui's greatest regrets after he couldn't get the armor to work without going way over budget, necessitating Kobayashi to take over for him. But it seems that price is no longer an obstacle after MP-36 Megatron and MP-41 Dinobot.

 

Meh. I'm happy with the ones we have. I'd rather they did other characters we don't have yet instead of the third version of Optimus Prime. Hell, even Starscream needs a new Masterpiece figure more than Prime does.
We're already getting far fewer G1 Masterpieces than we were getting, and now they're wasting time retreading old ground again. So disappointing...

 

Cool. Let's see if it paid off never getting a mp prime. That looks more like what I was thinking of.
