If that's the real price, the trailer better be able to store itself in a pocket dimension for full cartoon accuracy.

I hope when Takara announces the price they are met with the same audible groans that Betatron got.

I have no regrets with my KO Megatron (who is superior to the real thing...) so i doubt Prime will be any different.

The price, if true, is a bit of a shock. I stated that he wouldn't cost this much months ago... This is going to be a great figure, I'm sure of it, but at this price... What will I tell my wife? :D

I am siding with the others who are taking notice that the "2" means that the price is for a fresh case, not the figure itself.

As we speak, "MP-04" Convoy (Version 1.5) premiered on September, 2006 and was priced at 18,000 JPY (36,000 JPY for a case of 2). And "MP-10" Convoy (Version 2) premiered on September, 2011 and was priced at 22,000 JPY (44,000 JPY for a case of 2). Which means that "MP-44" Convoy (Version 3) will be priced at 25,000 JPY (50,000 JPY for a case of 2).

Which means that at worst, online stores that both import this and offer "collector upgrades" as an option will price it at the $250-$275 USD range before the cost of shipping it.

But you can’t!! A single solicitation is all the proof anyone needs!

It’s a good thing that these TF fans don’t have their fingers on nuclear launch buttons...(at least I hope they don’t...)

Yup. Remember , MP-10 was originally priced at roughly $250.00 upon initial release . I’m talking strickly the TT first release . It’s almost come full circle as well . They bitched MP-10 was utter trash , then bashed the 100% price increase over MP -01. ( then ultimately bought him in every color of the rainbow )

Also people completely overestimate the cost of light and sound gimmicks. My son has shit loads of toys that have minor electronics, some of which were cheap as chips. "Lights and sounds" should not be an excuse for a 30% mark up in cost.

The bad news is, this likely won't drive down aftermarket prices on MP10.

The good news is, the KO market is better than ever.

I would think that the engineering that goes into the new BW molds would be miles apart from the more familiar Convoy mold. I mean, they go from robots to giant freaking dinosaurs.

I can understand the bigger BWs being more expensive than the G1 molds.

Unless V3 transforms on his own, eyes and matrix light up and the voice of Cullen eminates from this guy, V3 shouldn't cost more than BW Dinobot or BW Megatron.

If he is 400 dollars, that's just Takara being greedy as hell with obvious and unapologetic price gouging.

People waiting on KOs need to take a look at the Sunstreaker KO. I think the opinion there is it's not that great.

Just wait it out. The next economic recession is around the corner. The price will drop quickly. The problem is obviously whether you'll have money to buy then because it's possible you'll be unemployed.

    Aren't those both good things?
MP-10, before Takara lost their sh*t.

Yep. Also remember that the new paint application technique was supposedly the reason the BW figures were costing more. Another thing to take into consideration is that production runs for BW dudes are most likely smaller than for a flagship character like Convoy. The more I think about it, the more I think the "¥50,000 is for a case of two" theory might not be all that crazy, although it does seem a tad cheap.

Anyway, I'm gonna try and keep an open mind until we get official solicitations and the figure is revealed in full.

And If roller and prime were both remote controlled... both modes i'd buy it at the sticker price. $550 if the trailer dissapeared and reappeared at the push of a button.

Man, I am so glad I have no interest in buying this new MP Prime. This thing looked like garbage to me from the start.

    MP10 for life, yo.
