    I love how they resolve the back in robot mode

    In truck mode I love the cab, but I need to see the rest of the truck without the trailer

    Haha me too bro! Me too. If only because I have wanted this figure more then anything else since I started really collecting in '96
    Probably why MP-1 is my favorite figure still today. And I got him 27 year-old in 2004 Christmas. So yeah you can say I'm getting both. I was stoked on the Transforming Element Prime (even know I forgot the name lol)

    Holy panel lines in both modes! Those elbows are not awesome looking either. Looks like articulation is A+ though!

    To be honest I'm getting TakaraTomy regardless, I get all the Masterpiece's (minus MP-09 Rodimus Convoy & Convoy with Trailer MP-4 version & MP-5 Megatron + the diaclones) but still most likely getting the Transforming Element Optimus or COMMANDER isn't it called? (Maybe?). I was following that thread b4 when I had my other phone that just broke I bookmarked everything & i tend to read the whole thread. Or alot of it at a time, so I DO know about the figure I just forgot the name :)  & yeah I probably should have just looked in the 3rd party section but I knew is get an answer. I wanted to freshen up again. Thanks bro ;)

    Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion and criticism is honestly far more valuable than most of the gushing on this thread. You at least are articulating what you like about it. But for me, your post actually sums up pretty well what I personally feel is wrong with the official MP fandom. “I really like it and my inner child goes ‘sqweeee’ so therefore it’s perfect and no criticism is accepted.” “Takara can do no wrong”. There’s a very strong tendency to ignore any rational criticism or disagreement and avoid any attempt at an unbiais ed view from a lot of people.
    There are plenty of genuine criticisms of this figure, from the gappy shoulders, to the too narrow waist, to the kibbly backpack. And all over there’s very much a sense of gaps and panels and stuff kind of fitting together, rather than large smooth pieces of solid plastic. Compared to that Hound, the front of Optimus is really bitsy - it’s almost a Bayformers vibe with so many little panels, at least to me.
    Some feel those are dealbreakers, some think they are minor and many just seem not to notice or care. And all of that is fine.
    For me, this is okay. It’s not the slam dunk for me that it is for many others. It’s at best on par with the two 3P efforts. Colour may change that. And colour may also improve those other two.
    I’m glad this gives you the buzz you’re looking for but I just get an “ ehhh, it’s not bad I guess” vibe. Doesn’t make me less of a fan, doesn’t mean my inner child is being ignored. Maybe my inner child just remembers Prime differently to how yours does. {shrug}
    But I will reiterate that I feel attempts to highlight what is both good and bad about this figure are far more valuable and interesting than most of the senseless fanboy gushing. But, to paraphrase “that’s just like my opinion, man”

    Lol criticism is more 'valuable' than enjoying the hobby. Of course it is.

    Hi. How's it going bro? :)  Just gotta say this is not accurate. His shoulders are definitely looking to be one of the best things about him and considering NO masterpiece Optimus Prime has had good or REAL shoulders, theae are done really well! First off the articulate up and down on the shoulder access point as well as the upper collar bone lower neck shoulder joints. And also butterfly left to right if your not reading the whole thread your missing all the good pictures and seeing the front page linked ones which is clearly just demonstrating how good his shoulders are. Read the past 10 pages from here you'll see better ones if that's the case.

    The separation however is probably half way to do with the articulation and I agree it should look better but it probably will on release day. ;)

    While I'm at it I should mention he NOW has double jointed elbows with good range, and double knees with what looks like exceptional range. Plus hopefully his head is on a double ball joint hinge swivel

    It is though..... Criticism is why there is a V3 Optimus being made. Criticism is what drives improvement, helps designers improve and is why we have so many options for the majority of TF characters. Constructive criticism that is, people coming in a hating on something just to hate is pointless and detrimental.

    I came here hoping to read some analysis from @Liampope and @Deruji . Turned out to be the same rants coming from the same actors that already made it clear this figure is not for them 200 pages ago.

    Criticism is not why they made this figure. The designers are clearly steering toward a 3D Sunbow design and MP-10 doesn’t match aesthetic. Convoy 3.0 is a cash grab and a boost to newer collectors whose collections are mostly newer, more toon accurate designs. But mostly it’s to match the recent move that the entire Japanese demographic has been shifting to (extreme anime accuracy).
