1. It makes no difference to Takara-Tomy how many Convoys/Primes and Megatrons there are in the MP line.
2. The + designation is already established as a sidestep for the line and a place for special editions.

Yes, that is why I also wrote that only MP-10 was shown with MP-9.

But you seem to have missed the essence here, that the absence of MP-9 on the packaging of all releases post-MP-10 is not a sign that TT would be working on a new version.

 

I think the thighs will be the purple tinted white used on MP12+ Sideswipe.

 

Haha, I mean I think it could be a very subtle light grey or greyish off white. Takara Mp-10 was too dark, Hasbro was better but I think somewhere in between with a bit more white influence would look great and still evoke toon more than previous releases.

I’m usually toon all the way but unlike other white thigh characters (magnus), Optimus has no other white accents and so I find the white tends to over power the figure.

The custom below is too far but the one below that almost pulls it off but I’m still not sold on white thighs. Love the blue tinted trans clear windows though.

 

@Zambot, I think unlike Ultra Magnus and Star Saber with their bare plastic, Prime v3 having those painted with a slight metal sheen like Megatron will keep them from becoming bland. One thing that's great that's already apparent is that what sculpted seams are there are there on this figure are given very deep cuts so they should really pop.

I'm in the minority that loves this. Just want clear blue windows. I've waited for this repaint. Sadly I won't get it so I hope V3 has white thighs and Waist atleast. But I want grays and no chrome. I was SO disappointed when I opened my Primorion and it had gray legs and waist instead of white like all the pics I saw.

I continue to find it hard to believe that anyone thinks V3 Optimus is better that MP-10. It just looks so...frumpy.

 

Honestly, the mp10 like that (toon colours), looks fricking horrible. So glad they made a whole new mold.

 

I love mp-10's design but he doesn't look like the original cartoon optimus prime.
The v3 will be better with articulation and accessories though.

 

They're going to have to fix that backpack and kibbly shoulder joint to get my money.

 

All I wanna know is, when does V3 go on pre-order?

 

I feel that's the difference between the MP Primes. V1 was an update of the original toy, and likely a standalone figure since it was being paired with the BT line, while V2 fitted the character into the MP line. V3 is the next step which realizes the character as a whole, giving an real life accurate truck mode and a cartoon accurate robot mode.

 

chances it will be a hot minute before we see POs, we haven't even seen a colored spread.

 

Ironhide was shown at TTS 2015 but preorders didn't go up until September, for a January release date.

I'd be ok with that  

According to Gamerlingual at the toy show they said we can expect coloured shots in August or September, so that's working out for that timeline.
