This is the way of things now. I'm not a fan either but that's the vibe the designers seem to be going for now, complex transformations involving lots of panels and moving parts, superior articulation, VERY cartoon accurate robot modes, voice chips and high price tags. I guess if I liked the cartoon I'd be more positive about it (much like I am about Beast Wars MPs) but mostly that wasn't what attracted me to G1. Indeed here in the UK it was barely on TV.

Hopefully TT will make sure this doesn't end up like MPM4 did.

I don’t think you’ve thought this through. by your reasoning MP10 is the definitive version because it is a Masterpiece figure and so is the first MP Prime. But with now three Masterpiece versions of Prime, which is the definitive version if they are all definitive simply by being Masterpiece?

Masterpiece clearly doesn’t mean definitive if they continuously remake new versions. A figure can’t both be the definitive version as well as cease to be the definitive version when a new version comes out.

yeah... not quite feeling the V3 here. I'll reserve judgement till better pics come, but you would think TT would try to put their best foot forward with a release this big and show a more presentable teaser. Looks like he has saggy man breasts and the alt mode looks very puzzle former-ish. Looks like you can even see the fake chest windows within the real cab windows. We'll see. I am open.

Better than Anorexic Prime. I mean there's mold degradation and then there's MP10 V3. The TT guys probably intended to shove out the MP 10 mold one more time, but when they saw the state of the mold, one guy suggested, let's just show them to the crowd, they'll eat it up. That man has probably been promoted to VP at least.

Meh. Doesn't really do anything for me. Honestly, I still prefer the original MP-01. I think the main appeal for this one will come when Hasbro does a domestic release with Peter Cullen voice clips.

I'm surprised that they've done 3 MP Optimus Primes now and have yet to do a MP God Ginrai. At least a Ginrai would have the whole combiner armor gimmick and not just a big plastic box for an accessory.

So, new paint, and higher price point I am guessing.

Maybe this will drop down the price on MP-10?

This will probably be fine, but it has the same issues I have with MP-10. It's too much money for features I don't need. On MP-10 it was the trailer and all that stuff. On this it's the electronics that will make it even more expensive.

First time a degraded mold has gotten its own number.

They should have called this MP10 Minus, but why do it if you can sell it for 350 ;)

That’s really just a matter of opinion. The characters have more representations in G1 than just the cartoon. If cartoon accuracy isn’t your thing than the toys wouldn’t be getting better by simply copying those models.

There are obvious objective elements of improvement that would be absolute regardless of what character model is being followed — quality of materials, build, articulation. But simply being cartoon accurate doesn’t make new versions better than the previous versions.

when image is not clear and distorted please assume the the figure looks garbage in real life, repeat process with another new figure poorly photographed with a potato, what is logic.

Not sold on grandpa-pants Prime yet, but I'm a sucker for any kind of halfway decent Optimus. I'll see if it grows on me. I may end up getting this despite myself.

Would've been more hyped about an Arcee or Jazz though.
